Snoranger’s 2023 Ranger Lariat Tremor

It fits:

I haven’t finished the install, so I won’t go into details. But my idea worked.

Great use of otherwise dead space.
I assume then, that’s not where the airbag is.

Airbag?!?! I don’t sit on the passenger side!!!

Is it open behind that whole panel?
Not completely. There’s another panel behind that trim piece that had to be cut. Then there’s some brackets about 6” in you could modify and get a LOT of room.

That’s a lot of space in there. I’m surprised they don’t have any little cubbies in the dash they did in the 90s full size trucks.
There’s a huge amount of wasted space. With a slight redesign, they could have doubled the size of the glove compartment. I kinda think they did it on purpose… it’s cheaper to build simple shapes without extra storage compartments.

I don’t see the airbag being an issue:

Looks like it comes out of the defroster vent and bounces off the windscreen. Would not have expected that.

It looks like the air bag blows out the seam just above the panel, though it does look like it blows out the whole dash cover up to the defroster vent. It does a good job smashing the windshield in the process too before the front of the truck gets smashed in.

Watch in slow motion. The nose of the truck takes a huge amount of damage before the airbag pops. It blows out the top of the dash about 4” back from the panel I put the radio in. It expands up and back toward the passenger. As it inflates in drops down and covers the dash, vent panel, and glove box area.
It actually covers the radio, it doesn’t eject that panel. I feel confident that this isn’t dangerous.
