My floor carpet is wet behind the passenger seat where the jump seat is. I am thinking water is getting past the door weather stripping, is there any other ways this can happen?

Just noticed this on mine. It's definitely the third brake light on mine. Water has not made it to the floor yet, but you can see the water stain above the back window. Gotta look at that today. With all the rain we've been having lately I really haven't had a chance to get to it.

Hope you get yours solved.

Also check the putty in the body seam on the upper rear corner of the cab. This is the seam that runs from the gutter above the door, to the back top corner of the cab. Make sure the putty is still in place.

My 2021 leaked water in through the 3rd brake light... so I traded it in for a '23 bronco...

...which leaks water in through the seam between the front 2 roof panels 🙂

Leaks can also happen where the front windshield is caulked. Water gets in the roof and works its way down.

recently resealed my cab tail light then got some down pours and realized that my rear window was leaking. striped the inside of the cab and pulled the rear window replaced with tinted in place of the clear . It's a 93 extended cab now waiting for some weather to see if I did it properly.

Rear window. You need to unbolt it with a 9mm ratchet wrench, clean and reseal it with 1/4" butyl rope, or you can use 5/16" and smash it down with your fingers.

Good to know since I may need to do that to mine after I check my rear brakelight.

If there’s water getting into the back of the cab, it’s the 3rd brake light or the rear window. Or you may have some unsealed holes in the back of the cab. Some previous owner of my green Ranger ran a screw that went right through the back of the cab. Then removed the screw before I got the truck but didn’t fix the hole. It’s welded shut now that I found it…

If the water is coming in the front, it’s windshield or cowl.

Rain gutters and roof seam issues can be anywhere, there’s a lot of metal for the water to travel on…

I cant find any butyl rope in canadiana. Does it go by other names? Any thoughts on alternative options?

EDIT: I can find it online but not in local stores it seems. PITA. I may have found some sold in a kit 'Universal RV Vent Installation Kit, with Butyl Tape'.

Why do you need butyl tape? No one uses it anymore on the windshields, and everyone uses trim adhesive on the various other gaskets. Butyl caulk is used for the windshields and the back windows.

Makes sense Franklin. The foam gasket in the 3rd brake light is completely flat and not sealing. I think I will try and find a foam similar thickness and make my own gasket.
Last I checked you could buy replacement gaskets for the third brake light, think there used to be a silicone replacement seal for those…
