What did YOU do today?

Changed the transmission fluid on the 68 Mustang I've been working on since May and decided to pull the driveshaft and check the u joints while I was there. I had to fight the u bolt nuts off with a foot long wrench because someone spooged blackstuff-POR 15 maybe- all over the threads. Of course both u joints are junk, this car just doesn't want to go home.

Oh yeah... idk how but I nearly forgot...

Almost pit maneuvered some asshole on my way to work this morning, if the system works as it should.... he should be in jail by now. It doesn't work though so... dudes gonna kill someone eventually.

- Go to pass pickup

- Passed pickup

- Psychopath didn't like that, put his foot to the rug, blocking me from moving back over

- I'm now closing in on a head on collision, so out of necessity I smashed on my brakes

- Using ALL the brakes caused bronco to veer hard right.. giving the drivers bedside of the truck (what I imagine to be) one HELL of a 35" tire smear.. truck almost spins out.. I almost spin out.. truck speeds up and keeps driving.

- Catch up to truck who couldn't escape thanks to a twisty road and a slowpoke in front of him.. get plate #... called police.

The police said they'd be in contact with the other driver. I seriously doubt that anything is gonna come of this though.. as I said.. the system doesn't work... rather... only works when it wants to 🤷‍♀️

It's LAW to let someone finish passing you in maine first off... 2nd... street racing? Or driving to endanger? Wreckless conduct? Then leaving the scene of an accident...

No damage to bronco, thanks to my wheel/tire fitment that sticks out past the fenders.

I don't understand people. If you are allowed to pass, let the person pass. That is what the dashed lines are there for as well as the signs.

Now if it's a solid center line or solid double center line, that's a different story. Generally, I just let those people go unless they've been riding my rear end and being a general Richard Cranium about things.

Some people think they own the road and the rules don't apply to them.

I called 911 on two state troopers that were weaving in and out of heavy traffic in a construction zone with no lights or anything. I watched them cut off a tractor trailer. They had to be doing over 90, it was the interstate but the speed limit was 55 due to construction zone.

I just told the guy there were two white dodges racing each other and weaving in and out of traffic. Gave him the mile marker.

I nearly called and reported a local police officer talking in his cell phone while driving Sunday morning. I wanted to take a picture. But that would have required me using my cell phone. That probably would not have turned out well for me.

I fixed it. Dang phones want to correct my typing when there's nothing wrong, then leave me hanging when my fingers screw up on this tiny imaginary keyboard.

I got some floordry today because my truck is puking oil all over the driveway. And then I finished moving stuff out of the Bronclander, kayak off the roof and in the house. Visited my kids at their place, made a day date to go shopping for sheets and house stuff tomorrow, got the Baofengs sort of set up, and now I just figured out how to connect my laptop to wifi and added the Ranger Station to my taskbar!

Parts guy at work is pretty good, and we have a good relationship with one of the local NAPA chains and was able to get the push rod and rocker I needed today so I got home and put that on, installed that valve cover, cleaned the front cover, installed that with some silicone around the water port areas of the gasket (didn't install the water pump yet but put a couple bolts on the top side for compression), then cleaned the oil pan and installed that then installed the motor mount plates with some blue loctite on the bolts for good measure...

At this point I'm ready to flip it over and try to prime the oil system some then get the lower intake on and probably start dropping it in Thursday or Friday night! Gotta obtain a power steering shaft seal, that's leaking sitting at a dumb angle...

I’ve heard the BS argument before. It’s still distracted driving, regardless of whether you wear a badge or not.

thats why that dude sued and won against the police car hitting him at a stop sign while he was on his bicycle.

cop said he is specially trained and allowed to for work. didn't hold up since the guy got it all on video, no cover story could be made

After a tiresome day axle shopping I have retired to the campgrounds for the day. It’s an exclusive members only property of which I occupy the only camp site. Site #420. Protected by pink flamingos and a green turtle.

In review I notice I forgot to mention ol #7. He photo bombed me and I missed it. Ol’camp cat came wondering in from the forest. Took him a while to warm up but he’s my buddy now. (Canned tuna). He’s deaf as a post.
