my youngest son finally found the weird noise the ranger was making while driving. turns out the dust cap on the front driver side popped off and was rattling around in the center cap.

Restoration is not just about cleaning up the rusty and fixing the broken. It's also about eliminating those squeaks and rattles. It's not only about what you don't see, but also about what you don't hear.

I just saw these on Amazon... a little late now. But helpful for someone in the future.

SpeedFreakCNC 93-04 Ford Ranger Compatible Rear Frame Weld On Repair Channels/Rot/Fix https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071VZWNZR?tag=959media-20

There is a company out of Connecticut that makes some as well. Called Safe T Cap https://www.autorust.com/product-category/ford/ranger/ . (They also sell frame caps for the center section of the frame where where the front spring mount and cab mount are. Plus cross members and spare tire carriers.

I was not expecting there to be this much rust or I would have ordered some from them. Once I had everything torn apart I just said screw it and started working.

It's kind of funny if you look at the pictures of that amazon link you sent, the picture showing the "repaired" frame shill has giant holes near where the shock mount is. lol

Yeah... I saw that.

Today was an important moment in my bronco's history and one that should make @lil_Blue_Ford proud. I finally cut my truck! The poorly installed replacement bumper was in the way of the new hangers so I made room.
