What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Pretty much like me running stock radius arms on my '90 that I had grabbed tubing and everything to make extended arms about 10 years ago... I even know where a good portion of that stuff is right now :)

My best, worst, most shameful and embarrassing temp was when I visited my kids up north, and discovered the rubber boot on one of my steering links was torn on the 96 F250 diesel. I got some of the moldable PVC tape and wrapped it, and then I wrapped the PVC tape with friction tape to keep it in place till I got home. It held the grease fine and didn’t break up or fall off. I think that was in 2006…..

It’s still on there, isn’t it?

What’s your point? Are you trying to make me look bad? It’s not the kind of thing you wanna rush in to ….

Hey, I’m not judging!

Went to town with the trailer & picked up stuff to start on the chicken building with. doesnt look like much but it’s nearly 1,000 pounds and about $300. Its too wet and windy to work today, Im sure if I pulled off the driveway with the truck & trailer the whole thing would be stuck very quickly.

We loaded up the ranger with furniture the wife wanted put in the storage room.

Than we sold our travel trailer. Bow she is looking at bigger ones since 17' was to short fir her to be comfortable in

I used the Road Ranger to go get dye to re-dye the roof on Ole Blue (88 Town Car). After cleaning it, I used some coarse steel wool to even out the little tiny bit of dry spots on it. Of course I didn’t get enough, so now I’m wondering if I should leave the paper on it till I can get some more. 3 cans didn’t go as far as I thought they would…

I like the two-tone paint job on your Ranger, I hadn’t seen it separated that way before. Looks good

I was once told that 1 can of paint will cover about 3 square feet, hoping that this info will help next time you buy spray paint/dye.

If the weather is going to be nice leave the paper and tape on but if there is rain in the forecast it would be best to pull the tape as once it gets wet it becomes so much more difficult to get off. This is just my opinion tho.

Decided to take a bit and figure out why the secondary battery keeps going dead in my older truck, turns out the power inverter was drawing about 120 milliamps which is a touch high. Pulled the fuse for now, will install a relay in that circuit when I tidy up some of the other wiring in a couple of weeks.

Soooo, when I went to start ‘ole Blue, she just didn’t sound right, so I took the Road Ranger and got a starter, and (actually rare for me), I got a new battery, and a new solenoid, as well as the rest of the dye for the top. It only took a couple hours to finish off the top and put in the starter battery and solenoid etc., which included cleaning up the negative battery terminal clamp. I didn’t mean to shock you guys by buying a new battery, but ‘ole Blue is my “new” car, the one I rely on when I have to go long distance and such. I want to do a little buffing and waxing, but she’s good now for another 35 years!
