Car ramps

They wanted to build a fighter version too but it never got past the prototype stage.

Yeah, it applied to the whole series. Surveillance though, not bombing.
Added edit later. I meant to say "bomber" lol. Was tryina be discreet lol

When I saw that, I instantly recalled the famous speech from Animal House. “Remember when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? …”

I made these stands. Have to jack the truck up and put them under the wheels. Then I can put a jack underneath the stand and raise it further. They are quite stable. Gives more room underneath without jack stands under the frame.

I like those. The whole Jack/jackstand placement PITA seems to increase with age....would be nice to just chuck some stands under the tires lol. I have 6 million options worth of scrap steel to whip up a set with.

Technically, they did (by extension). Funny how truth comes out in stupid humor.

Is the sprit of one upmanship, I was thinking something like this

Which would be a significant down payment on a lift, but my garage doesn't really have enough height for a lift...
But are the ramps high enough to get underneath or does one have to always go from the ends?

I need to put stops on both ends. The channel iron I used serves the purpose of stops, but being in a hurry when making these, I didn't have time to put more material on. I need to rectify that before I'm really needing them again. Just some more ease of mind.

So, barely. Some vehicles sit so low, it’s the only choice you have. Others, like my truck ones, you can use a creeper. If you are on a paved driveway or in the garage. On gravel, you’re still stuck with cardboard to crawl around on.

It’s getting about time to replace mine. They’re getting pretty ratty.

I was talking about the long ramps that @don4331 was showing. The one with the Chevy truck on them. It doesn't look like one could get underneath those ramps from the sides. Or maybe just barely can.

Gump what is your main goal of ramps? Feel like we're hitting all around options without knowing why you need them?

Mainly for the wife's car. To do maintenence and I have to find an oil leak. It's just a damn hassle with my old floor jack... and I'm getting to old to be crawling around on my hands and knees on concrete. Ramps would really simplify the process.
