it appeared that the receiver and barrel were painted black
The basic model has painted receiver and strap at the end of the stock. Every else is blued. You can also get them in brass or brushed nickel.

I really, really want a lever rifle in 45 Colt. I have visions of long octagon barrel... I think Henry makes one but they are just so expensive. I wasn't real impressed with some of the Henry .22LR levers I looked at, it appeared that the receiver and barrel were painted black as opposed to blued. Felt kinda cheap. Maybe the more expensive ones are better?
I also find myself interested in a 45-70. Or any other straight wall cartridge I guess... 30-30 is cool but I just have such a huge boner for straight walls.
I have a Remington 1911 from 2016. The finish on the gun is garbage, they used a black oxide coating, like bolts, instead of blueing.
That being said it’s the quality otherwise is amazing. Really well put together. Most accurate 1911 I’ve ever shot.
however, there is such a wide range of variety in 1911s. Not really a standard to compare it to.
I never knew a lever action (real) rifle was a real thing until I was watching yellowstone. I had seen lever action bb guns before but I just thought it was a bb gun thing, guess I should of known that a bb rifle would be based on something real. I grew up around dads .22 mossberg, quite possibly made in the ‘70’s.
