D-ring shackle anchors 91 ranger?

Has anyone found a way to put d ring shackle anchors or tow hooks on the older rangers. I have a 91 2.3l 4x4 xlt. It doesn’t have anywhere to attach my tow strap basically if I ever get stuck or want to try pulling someone out with my 2.3l lol.

It's a custom project. Cheapest way might be to bolt tow hooks to the bottom of the frame. Easiest way is to buy new bumpers that have attachment points built in. Another way is to install a hitch receiver and get an attachment point to slide into the receiver. Do NOT use a hitch ball for this. They can break off and fly back at other vehicles or people.

I’ll probably go the route of bolting some attachment points somewhere on the frame since it’s just for emergencies.

Princess auto (Harbor Freight) has J-hooks the same as tow trucks use for about $20. That and a 2" 10,000lb racheting strap has got me out of a few situations.

For the rear the easiest/best recovery point is just a 2" receiver... they're super common and most tow strap loops fit into the tube, then just put in a pin and call it good, extremely secure and safe...

For the front I bolted a tow hook to the bottom of the passenger side frame rail, over the years it's bent it over a bit but it still works...

I posted a picture here or on a ford truck website of what happens when you bolt a tow hook to the frame rail and attempt a serious pull. You bend the frame rail. When you bend the frame rail down, other things can move including your sway bar.

If I put tow hooks on, I run a piece of channel (U shape up with drain holes drilled) left to right inside the frame rail (bolt, hook, frame rail, 3/16" channel, washer, nut.) for the cleanest look.

If I do not care about looks (aka my own vehicle) I go with something such as this:

Probably the simplest way and cleanest way for most people is to install a heavy duty receiver hitch (10000#) and run a strap through the 2x2 tube to a 5/8" pin. They make adjustable front mount hitches too.
