Air Lockers

It looks like anything that gets the locker gets the upgraded 210 axle.

I don’t know how different the axels are, but that could be a problem with warranty if someone skips the sarsaparilla package and just pops on a set of 35s. Plus all this talk about how easy it should be to put 40s on it.

Only issue is the sashimi package adds $7400 onto the base model.

Yeah... they don't give away the sasquatch... but I'm not sure you could do all the that comes with it for any less... and there goes the factory warranty. I think for MY22 you can get it with the manual transmission... that will shave that number by like $1500.

Yeah it does. It doesn't really help clarify though because anybody wanting a front locker will probably want a 33"+ tire.

You can get some of it aftermarket. Supposedly they have lift kits and whatnot available as an accessory that carry the factory warranty if installed by the dealer.

Really for what you get the basesquatch is an awesome deal though.

I’ve also read that a locker in the SLA is not a good idea. The axle isn't strong enough at the half shafts for a locker.
Something we talked about here ages ago when the SLA was fairly new. Two schools of thought. One, the axles and CV’s aren’t strong enough for a locker. Two, if you drive it right a locker will be easier on the components because with much better traction you can go slower and not have to rely on momentum to get over obstacles. Part of the deal with the SLA is tires, it doesn’t like tires larger than 33” or wheels wider than 8”.

I finally cancelled my order of the Grip Pro. Decided to spend the money elsewhere rather than let 4WP hang onto it while I wait for them to get manufactured.

Supercharger time

I knew that tires were a bit of an issue as far as diameter. I don't remember anything about width. That's a new one to me.

Unit wheel bearings won't like much wider than stock wheels, especially if you have to start playing with offset.

I can hardly keep Timkin/National/Precision ones in my F-150 (scaled up 98-11 Ranger front end) with friggen 265/75-16's.

Like the older models, an 8" wheel with 3.75" backspace or close to 0" offset is perfect. 10" you need about 4' to 4.25 backspace and that's more leverage than the wheel bearings and tie rods like.

That makes sense. I misunderstood your original meaning.
