I did the throttle cable Ty-Rap hack. It absolutely turned it into a new truck again. Throttle response, power, trans shifting, even kickdown are all vastly improved. I should have suspected something when I could slip my cable off the throttle body spool. I even found I could adjust it some by rotating one the 3 cable ties. I put the middle cable tie on from the opposite direction and needed to move it to where all 3 clinching sections were not side by side which made the idle a bit high. Idle is normal and there's still some minor slack in the cable. What a great cheap fix, now if I can just get my old back to recover from the gymnastics required to get under there. Another TRS Forum Tech Section success story!

Also why do ASE techs get a lil thing. I'm an ASE parts pro, can I get a dumb thing for that? It's technically an ASE certification... I passed the ASE cert x1 undercar exhaust when I was 18 anyway but it long since lapsed.... I don't think my parts pro requires re certification though so gimmies!!!

I'm an AWS certified welding inspector too. where's that tab? I demand more than my yellow back! I demand my yellow plus awesomeness!

Got a call while driving my Ranger. Realized how spoiled I go with the hands free feature of my GPS when I couldn't hear anything with the windows down.

Got to looking if I could a module for my HU... No go. Found a period looking HU... at $500+ I decided I would be better off to get back to fixing the AC...

I have 2 of those! Went to the local highschool to take my test and all! Got parts specialist when I worked at advanced cause they said they would give me more money, and did the undercar after I quit when they didn't give me more money. Imma go dig through my papers! I know I even have a fancy belt buckle I bought from the ASE store somewhere! Just cause it lapsed two decades ago shouldn't make me not worthy to have the ASE tab!!!
