The Ford Maverick is coming June 8th

I read at one point that there were no plans for a 2 door.

Bronco Sport is built off the same host chassis, plenty of stuff they can pull of of that if they wanted to.

FX4 won't be a 2wd...

I thought they were all 2wd..

However... I realize I'm dumb and ford has both fx4 AND fx2 models... so... duh.

Well.. neat! Awd would be cool.

Fair point regarding FX4 being obviously not 2wd. The torque steer reference threw me - I figured if a limited slip went in, it would be used in the back.

[/QUOTfed.

Yeah my bad lol too much sun for me today, brain has sufficiently been jellied.

All good! I spent about ten hours yesterday in the sun helping with a race and got pretty well broiled. I can empathize!

You’d be surprised how well an AWD with open diffs can get around. My CR-Vs were Billy Goats in the snow and ice. Not to bad on moderate trails like fire roads. The suspension travel and road clearance was the biggest concerns.

My awd escape is a beast in the snow. Last winter I found a 3-point blade online and used the boat trailer to bring it home, this trailer was in the back corner of the yard, snow knee deep in spots. The allis wouldnt start (and the battery blew in the process of trying to jump it) so I took a chance on using the escape, backed right up to it, hooked on and made the trip. Of course the 4 new winter tires helped too, I wouldnt of tried it with the “touring” highway tires that are on it now.

I like viscous couplings....

Well at least it has the right amount of lug nuts...

Ya know... I like this little truck a bunch more then I thought I would. 40 mpg's sounds pretty good too.

They put a lot of thought into the bed system... I sure hope they have stuff like this on the next gen Ranger.

Anyone else think it looks like a Honda? :dunno:
