TRS 2021 Fall Off-Road Round-Up

Wow this looks like fun. That's quite the hike for me to make, but not the first crazy thing I have done! I'll see what I can do considering a new job and the real possibility of breaking the darn truck again.
I drove there from NJ... that was 12 hours.
Jim made the trip from Texas... I don’t know how long that was.
lilBronco also came up from Texas.

We all had a great time, you should definitely try to go.

Yeah....nice to see rock auto., Ordering today and tomorrow.

I just used our Midland Radio discount. I ordered a MTX115 bundle, some handhelds, and a few accessories... I saved $60.
👍🏼

I need better radios for when we travel our equipment.

I still need to get a proper GMRS radio. So, I'll be wanting to take advantage of that discount myself. I want to get the 40 watt radio instead of the 15 though and a handheld someone can talk me right into trouble that I'm trying to avoid on the trails...

I seriously thought about the mtx400 (40 watt) but when I really thought about it...

When will I ever need that kind of range? I’m never far from my group when we go out. I could get away with well under 1/4 mile of range.
I’d rather have the NOAA radio on the 115, than the extra power of the 400.

Being that dabble in SAR, one never knows what kind of range one will need or what radio we’ll need to have. HAM, GMRS, MURS, CB.

As long as you’ve got a reason... 👍🏼

Just an FYI: Midland is releasing a 50 watt sometime this year...

I bought the MXT115 for my SxS. The hand-helds and helmet headset for use on my quad.

Dang it. I just realized that these are frs radios. I wanted gmrs. Guess I'll see about a return.

😒
what was the radio's that @Jim Oaks had last year? they were gmrs right? and you don';t need a license to operate them?
