You go put that back where you found it!

How did what work out?

The toilet/exercise speed wipe.

I can’t believe after all the time I spent swapping tires and painting those steelie wheels a couple times to get them just right for the 87 4wd, that, with my new vision of Lincoln-ising it, I might use a spare set of 5x5 Lincoln Turbines that have 225/75-15 white walls, the wheels and tires I pulled off the Mark V. So for $130 (completely blowing my budget) I bought wheel adapters 5x4.5 to 5x5. But, they’re basically Jeep adapters, and I have to hog out the inside to 83mm to fit the 4wd.

Why am I telling y’all this? When I got the Mark V (7.5/460 bored, etc.) I met a guy who owns a speed shop who converts stock 460s to 1,000hp+ for drag cars. I’ll never do anything like that, but he helped me sort out my engine and we became friends.

Why am I telling y’all this? So this guy has done me favors, a little machining here and there, including modifying the adapters I used on the Mark V. So I went by today and dropped off these maybe-Ranger adapters & he said he could have them by Friday for $20.

Why am I telling y’all this? There were these guys from Louisiana and from North Carolina picking up engines today (460s, a 1,241hp and the “little” one), and they had one of the cars there. OMG, the most birchin’ engines I’ve ever seen, the car was like from outer space, and these guys were a hoot!

Why am I telling y’all this? So my next deadline on the lawsuit is Friday. I had a “discussion” with a trespassing City contractor for a couple hours this morning and then an hour with the Police reporting it, killed my day, little production. To cool off, I ran down to the speed shop to drop off the hubs. I ended up fooling around with these guys for 6 hours. What an unexpected blast, rock stars!

Why am I telling y’all this? I was wondering on y’all’s opinion: what do you think the chances are that the Judge is a motor-head and she’ll grant me an extension for this important distraction?

& BTW, I’ll share the name of the speed shop in a couple weeks. I can’t give out any names now cuz this was all super hush hush since these guys are heading for races, and pictures were verboten. These guys have more money in the engines’ custom paint jobs than I have in my fleet!

Such a cool day, had to share with a crowd that appreciates it (Redhead was a little luke warm on it) & now heading for the computer, writing all night, but it was worth it!

Installed leveling kit today after work.

If someone says it's easy only takes a few hours. Look them straight in the eye and yell " GIVE ME BACK MY PURSE" then kick them in the balls. That shit sucked and was tough. Haha but looks way better hopefully get tires on and alignment tomorrow.

So after rotating tires on the red one I started noticing an increasingly notable vibration. When I rotated the tires it felt like the passenger front had a little play, but not enough to locate the problem on my own. Got done a little early today and called my mechanic buddy and ran over there so he could help me locate the problem. Well, it got tracked down to the wheel bearings on the passenger front. Spindle nuts were loose, barely finger tight. The little nub on the inner nut was flush with the nut. Of course, cleaning out the truck the other day the bag with new spindle nuts got removed from the truck.

Bearings had a nice light shade of blue. And some heat/stress cracks. Races surprisingly looked ok. Spindle had a little wear but I was able to clean most of it up. Called the parts store and had new bearings and a seal run over. Put it all together, bumped that pin back out for the time being and the movement seems to be gone. So far it feels like the vibration is gone too.

Drove the red one to work. On the way this morning I got a good bit of vibration that wasn’t there last night after doing the wheel bearings. Coming home from work it was fine. Hopefully it just wanted to mess with me...

Bought fan clutch for the truck. Got home opened a beer and kept looking at the fan clutch to change itself. One of these days it will happen.

test drove for 1st time since swap other than trailer loading. took a nice easy run (only broke traction once) about 5 miles, first 5 on the engine and trans, its raining. ran pretty good, backfired twice, and has a lil hesitation, still getting p1000 as well. not sure whats going on, ill look into it another day. also the wipers are stuck wide open again. definitely has pep in her step now!
