Is it doable or do I need a different carrier. I am having my 7.5 re-geared and it has a limited slip. I know in some axles, you can't swap the LSD out and put a lunchbox locker in. What is the case with the 7.5?

You need an open carrier. I am not aware of any lunchbox lockers that will fit a 7.5 trac-lock carrier - that is NOT true for the 31 spline 8.8, you can get a Powertrax No-Slip for either open or trac-lock carriers in that application but NOT 28 spline 8.8s found in Rangers.

Personally, if I were you, and I wanted a locker, and was regearing anyway.... there is literally no better time than right now to put an Explorer axle in the back of your rig and your choice of a full carrier locker. It will cost a bit more, for sure, but you gain a heck of a lot. A junkyard open carrier for a 7.5 and a lunchbox locker is kind of a cheap way to go though...

Thanks for the info! I figured I need an open carrier. Alrighty, on to the next problem lol

If you have to buy another carrier why not just get a locking unit instead of cobbling it up? I hate those clunking, clanking things.

I wheel some pretty gnarly terrain and this is my budget rig (I have a Taco for the more finesse wheeling lol). Lunchbox lockers make sense financially and the clanks don't bother me. Besides, its a Ford so there is only so much improvement you can make LMAO!
