First look at the Maverick truck running down the line in Mexico

I don’t see a problem with a small unibody truck... if it fit my needs, I’d buy one.
At the $20k price range it would be cheaper then my next SxS.

Never thought I'd long for the "good old days" where you got all 4 cylinders in an engine!

I really wonder, despite tow ratings and such, how the 3-banger will stand up to a load. I can't imagine it being good for the engine. Seems like you'd have to run full boost on everything but downhill......

I don't tow 5k pounds with my 97, but 2 or 3,000 isn't stressing the engine much. Not like the 4.0 is screaming fast to begin with.....

IIRC/ rumor has it that that it has frame rails under the bed like the Jeep Comanche had.

I believe the optional 2.0 is a four banger. Could be wrong.

It's roughly the size of the old Ranger.

Unfortunately only comes as a crew cab.

I predict it will sell better than the Ridgeline but less than the new Frontier.

I wanted Bronco Sport headlights, not these square things they got.

Probably an easy swap

Are you new to the champion of making things very similar but not interchangeable... Ford Motor Company?

El camino was full frame, Ranchero was unibody. The brat and VW pickup monstrosity were also unibody.

So was the Chevy LUV.

Yea but that doesn't count because it was so dang fugly.

That wasn't very nice. Into the corner with you and think about what you said.

Fine! But I'm taking my blankey and pickle jar with me!

There's nothing wrong with unibody construction - done properly it's stronger to have a space frame. It's not new either. Here's a Lancia from the 1920's, probably the first (as they were with many things):
