How do you fill up with cash?

So essentially I pull up to the pump, go inside and give them more money than I think it will take, go back out and pump, then go back inside to get change?

Ok no more insulting NJ cause that is freaking idiotic... :buttkick:

New Jersian tourists probably did too many drive offs and ruined it for the rest of us...

Hey! People in NJ pay for their gas! It's hard not to when your not allowed to take the nozzle out by yourself. :icon_rofl:

I have no idea because I just pay at the pump with my fuel card, and pay the card off each month. If you are travelling carrying around a bunch of cash isn't exactly a very good idea especially with the holidays approaching and all this COVID crap going around people are getting dumber and more desperate for $$$ than ever.

Thank all the people that drove off without paying for the gas

You could look at pre-paid credit cards, they are anonymous and can be loaded with CASH at many places

You do need to have enough cash loaded on the card to do the minimum "charge" of the gas station you are at
So if the minimum "fill up" amount is $75 your balance on the card needs to be at least $76 or it will be declined

But watch out for fees and make sure it CAN BE used at gas station without going inside, so can be used for "pay at the pump", usually if they need a PIN they will work at gas stations because it is connected to "an account" not like a cash or gift card that just has money only on the card, there is no account to check, or refund if you don't put in the whole $75 when the transaction is done

I see your point with cash but most gas stations charge 10 cents or so more per gallon to use credit. Yea I'm being a cheapskate but with a 2,000+ mile trip in a loaded pickup truck that crap will add up.

Plus I'm a 6' 230 pound guy who hasn't showered or trimmed my beard since the Bush administration. Most people tend to stay far away from me... :icon_rofl:

I thought about one or those prepaid debit cards but i think you still end up paying the credit card price and not the cash price. My whole point is saving those few cents if I can.

Yes, +1 on Full Service, you just hand them the cash and they bring you the change

Now you have a 2.3l DOHC Ranger so should get at least 25MPG

2,000 mile trip would be 80 gallons of gas
Couple of 30 gallon gas drums and a siphon hose and you are all set

But if you want to pay cash then you got to walk back in to get the change, no way round that unless you don't fill up all the way

Never noticed a difference in pricing in the Midwest. Cash or card spends the same.

From NJ to Savanah, you'll be on I-95 where the speed limit is irrelevant. Get up close behind a semi and draft him. That will save fuel while you zip down here at 95 mph.

I'm surprised you're not taking the train.
