It's the people with the 7,000+ pound campers that gave us the near $100,000 luxury pickups we have today.

They literally called up the big three and complained. "I have a $300,000 camper and am pulling it with a work truck. Make it fancy!"

Thats the other problem...there is NO reason a base XL, reg cab, superduty with 4wd and basic as can be should MSRP over 40k.

I love you all

Now -this- we can agree on!

It’s not over $40K.
A base f250 4x4 with no options is about $38K. Add a few options like running boards for the wife, led bed lights, trailer brake controller, FX4 package and you can still get it for a few bucks shy of $40K... and that’s sticker price, nobody pays sticker price.

It’s nice to see you have facts to back up your opinions.

@rusty ol ranger, you want new trucks to be built like the old trucks, and ignore all the new inovations from the past 30-40 years? Do you prefer lead in your gas too? Still running those bias ply tires? Why not just run a steam engine, they have all the torque you could ask for.

38k is close enough to 40k. Still outrageous. Even adjusted for inflation...outrageous.

Damn right i do. Leaded gas? I dont care either way and bias ply tires were pretty well gone by the time i began driving.

But yes, i think you should atleast have the *option* of a big ass carburated, distributor fired V8 backed by a 4 speed manual, with no ABS, trac control, touch screens, thick heavy sheet metal, metal dash, etc etc, that you can buy new with warrenty for mid 20s. Only options being AC and *maybe* cruise

You specifically asked for “under $40K”... I gave you well under $40k... and now $38k is too much.
You just love to change the rules EVERYTIME calls you out on your crybaby bullshit.

Don't forget TT&L. ;)

I havent bought them yet but they are still in the running.

Sorry that i didnt run out and check friggin windowstickers before i posted. Next time ill do that. Jesus christ nitpicky SOB's. I was going off fords build and price tool, cause i was hoping i could *maybe* get a base model 7.3 without selling my right arm and left nut.

So 🖕

Dang wussy sissies have to have pneumatic tires.

Real trucks have solid rubber tires and drive chains!

Truck prices are freaking stupid, I just built a 1990's XLT level XL F-250 super crew yesterday online and I was over $50k.
