Some things make you say "WTF?"

There are more than a few McD and other fast food individual stores that offer breakfast all day . apparently there is enough demand for select outlets to offer .

Back in the day . used to run into the opposite . Order a Quarter Pounder at 0400 - ish , and be told they're only serving breakfast. ( We were out late , not getting up early .)

We have a Wataburger or 2 and they serve the full menus 24/7. Get a triple chz burger at 6am or a biscuit & gravy at 3pm.

WTFaburger.

The McDonald's near me serves breakfast all day... I'd complain too if they didn't have my 5pm sausage mcmuffin.
They stopped doing that here awhile ago...nothing good lasts here. Maybe it will come back along with the mcrib.

Whattaburger is good if I remember to order it no mustard. I hate mustard.

Mcds menu is a joke ever since they cut everything back cause of kungflu. I went to wendys yesterday and was downright pissed they got rid of the bbq bacon burger.

When I was young, putting a mustang II or a pinto on a bronco chassis was a thing.

Years ago somebody put a bug body on a BII frame, the wheelbase is only like half an inch or something like that off.

I have had impure thoughts of buying a cheap Land Rover Disco II and putting that cool looking aluminum 4dr body with a luxury interior onto a first gen Explorer Sport running gear. Wheel base is only about an inch off. And then for the ultimate mutt... LS swap what is left.

Disco II's are cheap, the front driveshafts fly apart and break the transmissions and/or the aluminum engine slips cyl liners and the boxed frames rust to nothing. Explorer Sports are cheap because the automatic transmissions burn up and the bodies rot to nothing. 😈

Am replacing a basement bathroom sink with a utility sink. Should be simple, right!

This bathroom was built by the previous deceased husband. Everywhere I look at the plumbing - hot & cold water supply and drain - not to mention the wall construction, I think WTF!

Nothing like ripping out and starting over, sigh.

When did LR use the Cologne 4.0 SOHC in them? I remember that being a thing at some point...

Edit - apparently that was the LR3 and not the Discovery.

Yeah, they took way too long to do that. LR3 is the Discovery 3.

Supposedly for the Disco II they put a hotter thermostat in for emissions and the warmer running temp caused the aluminum to expand more than it would at its designed temp and they would slip the liners over time. One of the first things you do if you buy a good running one is put in a Disco I thermostat... but by now you already have 15-20 years of the higher heat cycles so your results may vary on effectiveness of that "fix"

And of course the engine is stupid expensive to rebuild.

The front driveshaft joints are not greaseable and are routed really close to the exhaust. So being a part that nobody thinks of they get dry with age and since it is full-time 4wd... die a dramatic death. You can get aftermarket shafts that are greaseable though.

Rear driveshaft has a weird rubber isolator rag joint kind of a thing rather than a real u-joint which doesn't really give me the warm fuzzies either...

So yeah, just give me the cool looking body that won't rust. We can figure something out :icon_thumby:

I drove a first gen Disco years ago when I found it with a 5 speed at a local dealership. Loved the interior design, visibility, etc. Not impressed at all with the lethargic V8.

A friend had a V8 LR3 for several years. The only real trouble I can remember him dealing with was an air compressor for the suspension and replacing the batteries in the keyfobs that were designed to be unserviceable. Otherwise it was very reliable and performed great.

So I'm sitting here enjoying a beer and catching up on TRS threads, when suddenly this guy decides he needs a beer. His swimming is slowing down.

I dug him out with my pocket knife and he's crawling back across the table towards the beer!
