I can't find what I was talking about and my draw program won't save in a compatible format for here.

I kinda like this one and it covers what you were talking about.

Yup, pretty much something like that is what I am thinking, it isn't just going to be a bare tube running across the back of the truck.

And I want the jerry can flat. I was just spitballing when I drew this but I like the orientation of the can and spare here:

The flag FINALLY came in.

I had the two piece on order and they showed it in stock but they wouldn't ship the dang thing. The order sat there for two weeks and nothing moved, they just kept pushing back the delivery date. In the midst of all this it hit me I really didn't need a two piece one and I could save $10 with a one piece one... so I cancelled the order and place another order for the single. Stores nicely along the edge of the topper.

It also came with a clamp mount, I already have a "Tusk" one, I will just use it since I like it better.

Checked things over and drove it to Omaha over the weekend for kind of a test run.

And right after I took the pic I was like "crap a puddle!" So I pop the hood and start looking for what it is. Right there it can only be coolant or engine oil.

Oh crappity crap crap crap. That is going to hose the Indiana trip...

So we go eat and I pretty am pretty much counting the truck out going to Indiana. I have to gut the thing like a fish to change the radiator and I can't afford the radiator I want at the moment.

I let it cool down and go to pull the cap off to see how much coolant I lost... and the cap is loose. Cap position is approximate, the first thing I had to do was see how loose it was.

When the cap is tight it has the script parallel to the side of the radiator. It has to be on a certain way, it bugs me if it is the other way.

So I get to looking, the tab under the overflow hose is wet. That side of the filler neck also wet. And between the rake of the truck and the slope of the driveway if you follow it down it lines right up with the lower internal tranny cooler fitting.

Not sure I really lost much of any coolant at all, I was not leaving a trail. Current theory is after I shut the truck down the resulting temp spike opened the cap and instead of pushing coolant into the puke tank it dribbled it thru the unsealed cap. I drove it an hour+ back home, the cap was tight and everything is still dry.

It was 78-72* on the way home according to the mirror mirror on the windshield, gorgeous driving weather. It is amazing how much better the thing drives between a fully functioning rear suspension (no stuck shackle) new shocks plus the rear sway bar... it goes down the road amazing. The speedometer even ran smooth the whole way home.

I just wish I could get new tires on it but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

That's wrong. Get a new mirror. It was 1,000 degrees yesterday. I know. I dug two 30" deep post holes in clay and rocks and installed gate posts for a drive-thru gate in my fence. It was definitely 1,000 degrees yesterday.

I hope its like that for the trail ride.

how many RWHP did you gain from your rad cap? ;brownbag;

Asking for a friend I am sure...

While you your "friend" are is probably desperate for more power, sadly a classy looking radiator cap won't gain you him any. :dntknw:
