Moog CC840 Coil Springs

You're gonna have to end up just buying a set or two and start installing them to see where your truck stands. You're not gonna find a lot of info online about this that tells you without a doubt that it will set your ride height exactly where you want it..

I used the CC842 on my 87 single cab with my V8 swap.. They fit with zero modification.
This is an old thread but how would you rate the stiffness of the 842s over the 840s? I have an '87 and I'm still on the original 2.0 springs. I'm not too concerned with ride height as long as it raises it up some but I'd like the front to be as stiff as possible. I hate all this bouncing and wallowing around.

The 842s have a spring rating of 1447 opposed to the 840s have a rating of 1323.my 1995 mustang from springs have a rating of 1500.id get the closet to the mustang ones if I were to do it over again.or get the 866s which have a rating of 1650.i would definitely wouldn't go lower the 842s maybe even the 866s.hope this helps

Thanks. I have a '90 parts truck. It's an ext cab, 2.9, auto, ps, pb, a/c and cruise. It sits very high off the ground and still has room left with 235/75/15 tires. I can't imagine my standard cab, base model truck with no options weighs more than the '90, even with the V8. I want the front to be stiff but I don't want the truck to sit higher in the front than the back. But I only have 165/15s on the front and they almost rub the fenders so i have to pick something. The best I can find, my 2.0 springs are rated just under 1000lbs.

And those springs aren't new either correct?they probably lost alot strength over the yrs.id definitely try those springs first.u already have the truck.if there oem springs u can look them up and c what the rating is.probably closer to 1350 I'd imagine.good luck man.keep me posted I may be changing mine as well if truck sits to low on mine when I drop my V8 in next mth.

Most likely the original coils in the '90. Everyone thinks it's a 4x4 with all the ground clearance it has. I may just use those coils. I think I'll have to take my front sway bar off on the '87 to get the beam down far enough and it was a mother to put on.

U using djm beams on your truck?I think 4x4s and 2wd use same springs.its when the engine size changes the spring rating change.i remember looking on rockauto on springs and that's what I thought I found out

I have stock beams and stock '87 2wd, 2.0 suspension. I think that's how I saw it on Rockauto too that 2wd and 4wd use the same springs. Only difference I saw was engine size or standard vs extended cab.
