It's hitting home

My oldest daughter is in isolation in the hospital right now. She is a pediatric ER nurse.
This thing is serious we need to really stay home and do what the government is telling us.
I drive a big truck and I'm supposedly essential but I basically go to work and come home.
Please everyone just stay home if at all possible and let's ride this thing out and get on with our lives.

I hope she recovers quickly. My daughter is also a nurse, at the biggest hospital in DC, and has treated several positive patients. We are very worried about her.

Initial viral dose seems to matter, and medical workers can get exposed to a lot.

She is hanging in there. We'll know for sure Monday when the test results come in. Very frustrated with the conflict between the MD and the infectious disease doctors.
2 year old grandson is staying with my middle daughter and her husband for at least the rest of the month.
Apparently the vast majority of infected people show absolutely no symptoms but are still contagious. That's why it's so important to isolate ourselves.

My son works for Hypertherm building plazma cutters. He told me today that a man he'd worked side by side with on Friday has tested positive. So far he feels fine, fingers crossed. This area has Dartmouth College, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Hypertherm, Timken, Luminescent Systems, and other businesses that attract people from all over. When they come here their germs come,too.

Update
The test was negative. She has pneumonia and a blockage in the lungs, they are treating that and trying to get her back home but will have to self quarantine for 2 weeks and then retest.

Most of Vegas is shut down and you would not believe the amount of traffic we still have these morons just don't get it!

I'm not under stay at home orders where I live. I actually had to return to work starting Monday. Thankfully so, was bored to tears staying home. There are 4 million people in Oklahoma. A bit over 1400 have it, a bit over 400 hospitalized. We are talking infinitesimal here. I don't wear no frikking mask or gloves. Not many do either.

But I do hope your daughter gets well soon.

The company gave us our “permission to drive to and from work” letters yesterday. I think some people around here are finally getting the message. There is finally a noticeable drop in traffic.

I’m on the early crew today and my partner took the day off. So for the first several hours until the late crew shows up, I’m alone in this part of the plant and not supposed to do anything that could possibly hurt me. Just make sure nothing is burning or flooding. Hmmm. Time to read TRS.

It’s easy right now. So far this morning, I’ve turned on some lights for one contractor and electrically disconnected a motor for another. Currently watching a robin build a nest out on the steel framework for the stairway.

Nobody knows what to do with themselves!

My daughter is back home on 14 day quarantine has to get retest.
Our govener probably did the best thing for the people who live here by shutting everything down but our state lives on tourism. The Las Vegas strip could be shut down for up to 18 months.

Ok finally an update.
All is good she's back to work finally. The doctors are still not sure of the cause of the illness that she had and doing an antibodies test to see if it was in fact covid19.
So I've been enjoying the weekends with the grandson!
