Hi everybody! I was thinking about swapping the front end of my 1994 ford ranger to a 1992 ford ranger. Is this possible?

'94 is 3" wider than "92.

Anything is possible if you have enough time and money. Heck, we've seen Rangers with Mustang front ends before.

Based on how thick the doors are, I'm thinking the extra width comes from there. 98+ Ranger doors are pretty darn thick compared to other vehicles I've owned.

Maybe measuring the width of the hood would be better in this case. I think the body lines from the fenders to the doors still won't match.

Body lines I call shadow lines. They don't match up.

cab is wider, I had a “shelf-it” (overhead storage shelf, mounts to the flip down visors mounting point inside cab, then visors re-mount to it and flip the opposite way) anyhow it was from my ‘93. I kept it when I sold the truck and ended up putting it in the 92 I briefly had. it was too wide and though I did make it work it wasnt quite right. If youve ever noticed its easy to reach over to the passenger side and crank up a window on a gen 1 or 2 truck, gen 3 its a little farther away. drivers door is closer to you also on gen 1&2. But I guess with enough time/effort/welding rod anything is possible.

It can be done. Cammeradz put a 95 Explorer clip on his B2. It worked, it looked pretty good, but he did say most things didn't line up quite right.

I saw a newer mustang front clip on an Old square body Explorer. The only limit is your skillset. lol
