More Bronco hear say.

A new vehicle wouldn't be too awefully bad, if they'd get rid of that dang touch screen crap and just go back to regular dials buttons and knobs for the radio and the climate controls LOL.

My ‘17 F-150 and the new ‘20 F-150 that will replace it in a week or two have regular dials, knobs, and buttons for the HVAC and the radio. You have to use the touchscreen for the navigation and stuff, but you can pretty much just use the buttons and knobs for the radio.

Ooh, nice, so that touch screen stuff is something added on in a package then? Every dang truck, car, SUV, etc. I see around has all the HVAC and radio stuff tied into that touch screen...Seems more annoying to have to sort through just to turn the AC or heat on LOL.

The navigation stuff I don't use either, I never go anywhere that I need my vehicle to tell me how to get there, so anything without that would be fine too. Although I think if I get a new/newer vehicle it'll be a 3/4 ton pickup, nothing fancy just a plain ole work truck. I'd like to pickup a travel trailer and be able to do a bit of travelling occasionally, I don't think my poor little Bronco 2 would handle a trailer very well, and my Ranger is less capable at towing than the Bronco 2 from what I'm finding. I don't need/want all the fancy gadgets and gismos HAHA, I just need the dang thing to get me from Point A to Point B without having continual trips to the shop for repairs, and after a previous truck with IFS, I want solid axles under me.

We have a fleet of F250 XLs at work. No touch screen. Just a 3” display for the radio.

Great thanks, but they're fleet ordered vehicles so would that make a difference? Going to go checkout a couple dealerships soon to see what they can order or what's available...thank you.

Here’s the base model radio available to anyone, not just fleets...

Fun fact. Its illegal for a new vehicle not to have some type of screen since backup cameras are now mandatory...

Then put them in the rear view mirror like my 14 Ram has it. Not in that stupid little screen most people can barely see.

I dont see why a pickup truck needs them anyway.

Because if you can’t see out the back it is easier to back over your kids...

Have you seen the size of the rear window these days? With the tiny rear window and amount of rake on my F-150, you could hide a small state* back there.

*Not sure if all of PEI would hide back there, but Pelee Island probably would.

Probably because many of today's crop of drivers have only been driving for the past 8-12 years, when all these bells and whistles were starting, and grew up with them.
Being an old fart, I still check rear view mirrors, and look over my shoulder when backing. I still/always check mirrors when changing lanes. I don't call/text/play with radio when driving, so I don't need a warning when my vehicle is drifting out of it's lane, because it doesn't...I'm paying attention. In 55 years of driving, I have never rear ended anyone because my eyes/attention was somewhere else.
Today's drivers were and are being brought up relying on this stuff. I doubt that 3 out of 10 drivers today could properly parallel park their vehicle.
I was backing cars and trucks towing trailers for years without "cameras", just using mirrors. Guess what...its still dooable as long as you pay attention !!!

My truck has a big peice of glass behind the seat that you can use for lookin out. Works pretty good. I've backed up many times and have hardly ever ran anyone over.
