How to spend my tailgate money. Need locker/gear advice.

Same thing an ecoboost head and turbo would do... 110 horsepower gain..

I think I could just steal parts off my moms edge.

Now you’re thinking.

Just ordered the yukon gears 4.56 for $270. Master overhaul for $169. And Auburn pro for $530.

I need to stop drunk shopping. But I'm under budget!!!

Also @snoranger says he's coming over to help me install it all for free.

It’s wintertime. Y’all keep your clothes on so you don’t catch a cold.

NUDE GEAR SWAP!

If you can wait until January, I’ll help.

NUDE GEAR SWAP!
Nevermind... I’m out!
Edit: unless you’ve got a heated garage.

I've got a tarp and a torpedo heater!

You all heard it... nude gear swap under a tarp at my house!

Im shocked that PJ hasn’t shown up yet.

I mean either in this thread or at your house.

He's coming over my place next week as far as I know.

We gonna have a grand ole time.

Anyone have any thoughts on using the crush sleeve eliminator kit? Never used one but seems like a much easier and more logical way to set the pinion preload.

Since you already ordered the parts, it's a mute point. I was going to suggest the Auburn Gear ECTED. I works as an LSD when off and as a locker when on. The down side is they use clutches and need the additive as a result. They are a bit pricey because of they dual role they play. That is what I'm planning on putting in the 2011 when I do the re-gear to 4.56:1 on it along with a Torsen T2 in the front (They are supposed to be available for sale early next year).

If you go with a switchable locker why wouldn't you just run one that fully locks instead of a clutch style?

Yeah the Auburn ECTED isn't a true locker, it just tightens up on the clutches real hard when you "engage" it. I've witnessed many of them still slip while trying to climb up some obstacle off road.

I will say though for light use in snow, mud or sand, they'd probably be perfectly fine.

I might need to rethink that then. Not looking to rock crawl or mud bog but I do want a truck that is very off road capable.
