Automotive technology you miss.

I made it a point not to order a truck with push button start.

I don't get that, but to each his own. I like my keyless system and remote start.

I guess I hate all the automatic gadgetry because I can see people becoming helpless. I've never seen so many people driving in the dark with no headlights since cars had automatic light settings. Is turning that knob really so hard?

Remote start has it's place. I have a phone app for it if I wish to. As far as the push button, I just prefer the physical item to be able to operate and start the vehicle. I'm sure the security system is the same either way.

YOU SPUN A BEARING

I mean, it's a 1l 3cyl. Toddler could take it out without an engine hoist...

At the time, I didn't have the mechanical skill (and I still don't) to replace the engine. And I didn't have the money to pay somebody, either.

I also owned a Chevy Sprint Turbo... Is that on your list?

Did you know that the Sprint (up to '87), the Nissan Micra, and the Subaru Justy had almost identical bodies?

Can't fix a spun bearing...

...and you bust on the guy that FREEHAND PROGRAMED A SCRATCH BUILT ECU FOR AN ENGINE, oh yeah, AND IT WAS HIS FIRST TIME EVER DOING SO.

Check yo'self.

Also. We agree on one thing at least.

Damnit. Bald Ohian, Kanukistani Turd Cowpoke, and I all agree in the same thread in the same day.

Please, record this day in memorial.

Hugs for thugs

I hate TPMS systems. I like the idea in general as I see idiots driving around on low/flat tires regularly, but the sensors make changing or rotating tires a PITA.

How do they make it a pain in the ass? :icon_confused:

I agree. They a total pain in the butt. All because people are too lazy to check their tires and Ford made a bad tire selection. Now everyone has to pay for it.

I would much rather have a system like some military vehicles have where each wheel is connected to a real pressure monitoring system with valves and compressor for increasing or decreasing tire pressure. Of course that introduces new opportunities for component failures. But it would be handy.

They suck... we have nothing but issue with the CTIS on the 5 tons. I've got 5-6 of those systems tossed in a cabinet that we removed in the past 3 years.

I figured there are probably issues with them. Being in industrial maintenance, I have worked with rotating unions in many applications. They always require more maintenance. I'm sure that is the most common failure point on those systems. But I still like the concept.
