Would it be possible to swap to a 2.3 ecoboost with a 6 speed manual from a 2.3 engine with a 5 speed manual

if you have a 2.3 eb with a six sp, and the ecu and harness, anything is possible

It would be way harder then doing a 302 swap.

Possible, absolutely. And other ecobost swaps have been done. But its not really practical and would be VERY expensive. If you have a 2.3 duratec you have the same bell housing pattern going for you, if its the older lima they do not match.

You would essentially need an entire ecoboost vehicle for the swap. Then you run into issues like the 7.5" rear end being a bit weak for an ecoboost, the heater box not having room for the turbo, trying to figure out the cluster, if its post 2004 that means beating the security system, and many other hidden challenges.

I have been watching the cars on CoPart. I plan to buy a whole car to do my swap. Should cure a lot of headaches that way. The 2.3 eco's are not what the rebuild market is after so they don't go for tons of money.

The only reasonable way I see to do this swap is with the Duratec transmission and Ford's $2000 wiring harness/computer. I wish there was a better way...

If Megasquirt can handle direct injection, that's new.

From that thread, I'd say this is the relevant quote:
No version of ms has drivers for gdi injectors. I am not sure the fuel timing accuracy (and modes) are capable of running gdi well even if you can get them firing.

It may be possible to convert an Ecoboost back to throttle body, but it would be incredibly counter productive. Don't get me wrong - I love the idea of Megasquirt in general. Built one of the early boards probably 12 years ago, just never finished up using it on a project. Regardless, it's not really suited to this.

There was a link at the bottom for the controller and driver haha.

I'd like to see it done.

Also. If you ever want to get rid of that MS, drop me a pm. ??
