Hennessey Performance, known for creations such as the Raptor SUV and Velociraptor 6x6 will be offering performance and extreme off-road upgrades for the 2019 Ford Ranger. Yes boys and girls, it sounds like if Ford isn't going to give us a Ranger Raptor, Hennessey Performance just might!

According to their website:

Hennessey Performance will be offering a line of high-performance and extreme off-road upgrades for the 2019 Ford Raptor Ranger. Upgrades will include high-flow air induction system, intercooler system, stainless steel exhaust, larger off-road tires and wheels, suspension kit, and so much more…

Must be for the Aussie Raptor cause we don't get one.

Must be for the Aussie Raptor cause we don't get one.

What??

Hennessey Performance makes Raptor versions of other Ford trucks. It sounds like they may be offering a Raptor version of the Ranger in the future.....because Ford isn't offering it here.

It sounds like you all are getting your hopes up for the Ranger Raptor again. Ford sure does know how to tease an audience. Letting little tidbits of info leak at just the right time. I am OVER the elusive Ranger Raptor unicorn virgin truck that we will never get. Even if Hennesy does a Ranger Raptor, it will be based off the NA Ranger. Most people have already stated that the F150 Raptor is that as capable for off-roading, it is a Trophy truck with 4wd. Hennesy does cool things, I just hope they don't waste their time on re-hashing the Raptor, and make a real, cool, truck.

The Raptor is definitely NOT a trophy truck. lol Far from it.

As for the Henny version, if you want one..

They modeled the Raptor after a trophy truck, for going over rough terrain as fast as possible. It is not a pre-runner or a desert runner or whatever they call them.

I rode in a Raptor in Primm Nevada when I was there for a desert race years ago. It was before the Raptor went on sale. They had a course set up they took people on. The truck was definitely built for speeding across the desert. Not really practical for anything else.

So do we really want/need a more expensive, less practical Ranger? I don't, I would like a cheaper, more practical Ranger.

What I would like to see is more of a trail truck. Leave the F-150 Raptor alone.

Locker on both ends, more articulation, bigger/better tires etc.

I would still personally go for a plain old STX/FX4 but as it sits the ZR2 and TRD Pro challengers remain unanswered.

I personally don't want a Raptor. I want a true off-road capable truck that takes cues from a Dodge Power Wagon. I've said that here before. The point of this thread is that HP plans to offer an upgraded off-road Ranger package that might appeal to those wishing they could get a Ranger Raptor.

I don't have confidence in Ford to build an off the show room floor off-road truck. In their mind, the FX4 does that. To me, the FX4 is a good base to start from if you have the money, but you have to upgrade it from there. Off-road trucks don't run on all-terrains. Sorry if that hurts anyone's feeling. It should have a true 33-inch mud terrain, and a good 2-inches of suspension lift over stock to clear them. It should have a winch behind the bumper. It should have upfitter switches on the dash or console for powering accessories. It should have an optional front locker. And why is it such a bad thing to have manual locking hubs as an option? Lazy fricken people, that's why.

FX4 meshes nicely against the TRD Offroad and Z71.

Doesn't the '19 have a live front axle? To me that is a decent 2nd best to manual lockouts. Absolutely no vacuum crap to screw up... amazing after 100+ years of horseless carriages we are still struggling with automatic lockouts.

Kinda sad though, even the Rubicon lost its MT's... not sure that is coming back. Easy pickings for mpg ratings.

The article says that HP will have upgrades for the 2019 Raptor Ranger. It doesn't say they are building Raptors for sale, I don't see where it says they will be available in the us. IMO these are upgrades to the existing Raptor Ranger for sale not in the US of A

Actually, I said:

And you may very well be right. It seems weird that they would be offering larger wheels and tires for a truck that isn't built here. I mean, I can see people buying some parts and having them shipped, but tires? Plus I would think that they must have acquired one if they're making parts for it.

There is a rumor that Hennessey is developing their own Raptor equivalent:

Maybe I'm just misguided from reading that.
