So I am running out of ideas for the fix on my steering issue with my truck. I have a 2003 Edge 4.0l V6 with a 2inch Tbar Crank and running 265/75 16 tires. Ive had the tires for about 3500 miles with no issues. Went out on the trails and drove the truck approximately 100 miles on the road afterwards with no issues. The steering wheel is now jerking left to right and back again, sometimes very violent, at speeds anywhere from 10-40mph. I have changed the outer tie rods, upper control arms and checked that the front brakes aren't sticking. Im planning on rotating the tires, flushing the power steering fluid, and getting an alignment. After all those things and the problem persists I am out of ideas. Anyone with suggestions or had a similar problem?

Definitely look at the tires. Could be broken cords or a bulge. Can happen to new tires too.

Second what red says. Sounds like you got a huge knot on one of your tires. I had kumho a/t and two of them blew belts before 10k. Bought general grabber at2's and never had another problem.

This was my first thought as well. Almost every vehicle I have ever looked at for steering wobble/jerk that came in at any speed below 25 MPH had a blown cord on a front tire. The few others that didn't had tie rods that were either not bolted down tight, or super-dangerously loose.

I almost bought kumho a/t, but I ended up getting Falken AT3W, ive been happy with them so far...well at least until this issue haha.

Well it is definitely one of the tires, finally got around to doing a rotation and the steering issue is resolved. Thanks again for the help.

Your issue is not resolved. Your symptom has disappeared, but you didn't fix anything. You still have a bad tire, one that could likely blow out at any time.

Good point, I ASSuMEd that he would have fixed the tire but after reading again it doesn't sound like it.

When I had that on my F 250, it was a frozen U joint at the wheel. It would jerk the steering wheel out of your hand
