Hi,
I have a 1997 Ranger. The radio plays ok but the display does not work. Also the clock does not work. Where can I find a schematic for the radio?
Bob

There really is no schematic for the radio itself. Usually radio working but no display means you need a new radio

Yes, +1

I think the last car radio schematic I got was for Philco.

Not sure what you would do with it in any case, they are not made like the old days where you could swap Caps and resistors.
All surface mounting now.
Best bet is to take it apart and have a look, then get a used radio.

Used radio matching yours will be $40-$80 to replace

Most common failure for your symptom is the display itself. Since that part isn't available separate from a whole unit a schematic of the board would be useless anyway.

Just get an aftermarket one that has better features and reliability and be done with it. One thing Ford (or at least their supplier) has done very poorly in the last 20 years or so is head units.

Hi all,
The schematic will show me where the power is going to the display. If there is no power to the display, then I can trace it back to find the problem.

Won't need a schematic for that, newer electronics will have a separate power supply section, and wires will be easy to trace.
On quite a few displays they used light bulbs to back light the LCD display, when it(they) burned out display would be off.

Seems alot of work for an easily replace radio :)
