Crown vic?

I'd go 01 and newer in your search. I don't think the 2000 had PI heads and cam.

Yeah I think newer should be better in this case.

Rtg143 - what part of Oregon are you from?

Grants Pass. My granddaughter lives near Turner. They own Ned Baker real estate.

I bought a Camry for my wife. She likes it. Me not so much, mostly because it is front wheel drive. Other than that, it has been great. The Crown Vic was the last gasp of the RWD, V8 sedan made in the US. The fact that I see municipalities hanging on to them and cycling them through the various departments makes me want one. Yes, Ford did make a maintainable car. One that didn't piss you off when you went to fix something. They evolved so slowly it was easy to maintain a parts inventory. I'm wishing for a green GM :D

Last gasp of RWD V8 sedans...

Police Caprices with the 6.0 are being sold to the public, used, and you can get a Charger V8. Both sedans, RWD and either of those give 100hp more than the Crown Vic.

You could argue that they aren't body-on-frame, which is worse on a car that you want instant reaction out of it for handling rather than maximum isolation from the road--and also that they look too modern to be old-school sedans. But I remember how disappointed I was when the old square Crown Vic of the late 80s was replaced by the pointy and ugly new version, and how weak the new motor seemed to be despite all that crazy technology and its resemblance to the Boss 429 on the outside. But I came around after about ten years and was disappointed to see it go, just like everyone else.

Not sure about the new Caprices but we have the Chargers in our fleet and they've been so much trouble, we're changing to Tahoe's. Even the doors crack around the door hinge so they need new doors. Lot's of other problems too.

So? Did you get one??

:D

No I wish! It's incredibly hard selling a convertible in the winter time.

My plan was to sell both my vehicles I use for DD duty and get a Crown Vic. Although I will be losing a bunch of money selling my vehicles. It's hard to justify it right now. My gf (fiancé) is in need of a car and I literally can't find anything won't die of boredom in.

I cant convince her to drive one...yet!
