Explorer axle questions

I have a 93 ranger i am wanting to replace my stock mono spring with explorer springs and an axle with 3.73s. I know this will lower the rear as this is part of my goal, my question is on the fron will all i need is the lowering ibeams or woll i need coils as well? I plan to do the bolt-in Explorer parts the rear shocks will i need lowering shocks for the front? And if i pull the speedo gears out of the explorer will this correct my speedo after the gear change ( 3.45 to 3.73?

Humor me: What year Explorer? (later Explorers have the speed sensor on the axle not the transmission).

Axle flip is ~5" drop (maybe a little less with your stiffer springs). I would think you would want to stat with lowering I-beams to keep camber in correct ballpark, then play with springs to get desired stance.

I've seen alotta Exploders in the boneyards and never seen anything taller than 3.55's.

I have a 92 Explorer 8.8 with 3.73s under a 93.

So your 93 has the single fiberglass springs? Those are kinda RARE!

The Explorer springs are actually a little taller than Ranger springs, so I don't think you will get the 5 inches. Maybe 3-4 inches using the Explorer springs instead of regular Ranger springs. I don't know what you would have if you could use the mono spring, but I'm pretty sure that isn't doable from the construction of the spring.

I think this with the I-beams might put you pretty close to level.

You are going to need more than drop beams and drop springs to hit that point. Will probably need some to get there properly on a beam Ranger.

Not sure if it's what you are asking, but drop beams can be used without drop springs. For just drop beams, lowering shocks are not required, but they may ride better. I do not know about the speedo gear.

The mono spring has to go it rides like shit, and the 3.0 in my yruck is wore out but i want to run it as long as possible so 3.73 gears will help it have a little bit of git up till i do an engine swap. After a lot of research i think im just going to do a 5/7 with helper baggs in the rear so i can load my bike in easier. I need to figure out how to make the speedo right after the gears

Drop shocks aren't needed until you pass 2" of drop. With the beams, your shock length doesn't change. Add 2" coils and you still don't have to change your shocks. I would recommend better performance style shocks though. I've been running stock length front shocks on my truck for years and they have far outlasted the "drop" shocks I had bought prior.

The rear can get tricky, that will all come down to how you lower it. I'm currently running drop shocks only because I can't find performance shocks that are short enough and are a direct bolt on.

I use to haul everything in my Ranger with it's current drop. I only had an issue with tire clearance do to the wrong offset on prior wheels. I dropped the rear of my truck using only leaves. My bump stops are cut in half and I've been close to them, but it was bearable for a short ride.
