Need driveshaft picture - '88 Ranger 4x4 short box

I bought a truck that does not have a rear driveshaft and I am hoping someone has the exact truck I have and can take a picture of your rear driveshaft and post it here. That way I can determine what I need to order.

My truck is an '88 Ranger, Custom trim, 2.3, 5 speed manual M5OD, 4x4, shortbox.

I need to know specifically if your driveshaft has a CV (double cardan) joint at the t-case end, and if it attaches with BOLTS or STRAPS or U-bolts. Again, a picture would be very helpful.

I have a fixed yoke on the t-case that looks like this:

I got a '86, '88, '90 but only my '86 is a 4x4 and it's an automatic. If you want I can post a pic of it tomorrow.

88 Ranger XLT, short box (6ft), 2.9, M5OD, 4x4, will take a photo when the sun comes up.

I would like to point out that CV (constant velocity) and double cardan are not the same thing. A CV has balls or discs in it, has a much greater operating angle, and is generally somewhat weaker than a U-joint. Double cardan is just two U-joints.

Further, for additional clarity, the double "cardigan" which I frequently see/hear used in this context is something else entirely. I'm pretty sure it's a type of sweater.

So it turns out that driveshafts for this truck are almost non-existent, NONE of the parts stores could get the exact one I need, and none of the 7 junkyards in town even had anything close.

I had to order one that was too long from O'Reilly and have it shortened, problem solved.

Technically you are correct but the CV and double cardan are interchangeable terms as per Inland Truck Parts and another local driveline shop.

Odd, the new shaft I got has a double cardan joint at the t-case end that bolts on, and a slip yoke on the axle end, with the usual flat flange. Your t-case yoke must be different because none of my spare straps/u bolts fit.
