Full Width SAS on '90 Danger the 4th

Soooo. I have been collecting parts. I have had 10 people back out of buying my axles now, so I am keeping them. After this weekend, I will have the following:

Chevy350 carb/SM465 (hydro)/NP205 pass drop
SBF ZF5/1356 driver drop
SBF NP435/NP205 driver drop

-Chevy Front Dana60, LP, Open (I think), 4.10s, stock
-Ford Front Dana44, HP, 5.13s, locker, stock
-Ford Dana60, 4.10s, HP (saved for the dually)

-Corp14, stock, 4.10s, L/S
-Ford Dana60, stock, gears unknown
-Ford 8.8, 5.13s, welded, FW

-1350
-1354E
-FM146

I am thinking about leaving my tons and 40s plan (Sorry 1Bad...) and going back to my 1/2ton plan. If Plumcrazy's truck holds up with the chromo shafts, it will be a done deal. If they work on BrayDs, I think Plum will be find and dandy. 1/2 tons and 37s will allow my building to move a bit faster. It will be lighter and cheaper. Plus 37s are perfect for the trails in my area.

So I am thinking this
D44HP, chromes, trussed, 5.13s and locker
8.8, chromes, trussed, 5.13s and welded (for now)
302EFI/ZF5/1356 (79:1) final crawl
3 link front on coils
4 link rear on coils
37s on some steel wheel. Maybe 38s. RCVs are warrantied to 40" tires. That is also an option.

Hmmmmm.....

You know if I had the money I would of bought your axles.

Are you staying fullwidth? Those big ole hips have been quite the boat anchor over the past few trips.lol

Yep :D
I like my anchors. Need nerf bars this time

Now that is cool. The price seems reasonable.

I agree. That is a good deal. The bad is that it has the carbed 4.2L. Ick. Had that in my first YJ. I, being 16, drilled a hole through the fire wall, ran a tube through it from the carb to my cupholder. In my cup holder sat a can of starting fluid.

If you build the treebars/sliders with a little flair at the end the back tires slide right through. I used to get stuck on my tires too. I changed my bars this summer and it's like driving a totally different truck in the tight trails now. As far as the 1 tons go I think doing the fastest route isn't always the best but being you already have geared and locked axles it makes it tough not to. It you build and drive it right I don't see why the 44 won't hold up to 37s.

Doooo iiiit. You have a doubler setup for an rbv still dont you?

Yeah, I would do a flared bar. Like how the motocross ATV guys do it.

Yeah, still on the fence with the tons for that reason. Its like my Ranger days. built the D28, broke it. Got a D35, that wasn't any better. Then went to a SAS which was WAY BETTER but still broke it in stock form.
I think I could get away with 1/2 ton axles (with chromos) if I keep it light. I still need to compare costs.

Set it up for 1/2 tons but keep them for sale if they sell take that $ invest in gears for the tons weld the rear.

You can still run the tons on radius arms and everything you would use on the 1/2 tons.
