I don't think either of them take a bad picture, I have yet to see either in real life.

I agree. The GMC has more of that truck look but they both look amazing. I'd take either :)

Were talking about the new ones..... Not the old ones.

My bad! Yes, the new ones are definitely different. Both are cool IMO

Honestly not a fan of em. Better than the global ranger no question.

Just that rear window how it sweeps up bugs me lol.

I like how Ford advertises the Ranger still on sites, there like, LOOK WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE AMERICA HEHEHEHEH.

They should do away with that tax. But I'm actually excited to see what Chevy is going to bring to the table with the Colorado, and maybe that will encourage Ford to bring the Ranger back.

Ya, that chicken tax is a bit old but a lot of places still to import from, Australia has produced some really hot cars/trucks in the pass. Brazil has I think the most modern Ford plant and might be the place that builds the Ranger now. If you think world wide, a lot of the cars are small, look at the Smart car and others. India and China still use a lot of those 3 wheel things to get around in the cramped cities.

Slight tangent to the topic at hand but still relevant to the conversation. This concept is a very viable technology that has huge potential and I would not be surprised to see something along these lines being employed domestically within the near future.

It has the potential of significant fuel efficiency gains with little changes to the internal combustion engine as we currently know it. Take the time to check this out:

Hate to say it

but there are only 2 small trucks left in the US--Toyota and Nissan. Those Chevy things are street vehicles. I want a new, small, capable truck, but a Subaru Outback is as capable as one of those things--more-so, probably. No break-over and bad ground clearance. They are going for a tough, kick-ass look, but failing in functionality. I want a truck that can go off the pavement in the winter--oops! the ditch filled with snow was a lot deeper than I anticipated--and come back up the other side without $4,000 in damage. I don't want offroad badges and 20" rims with 2" of rubber around them, step bars and ground effects.

Right now, a Tacoma is still a small truck with good offroad attributes and a Frontier is just a little behind. Everything else is dead. I don't want a bling Ranger--I want one that some African nation would deem worthy of bolting a machine mount in the bed. They still use Tacomas for that. The new Chevy Colorado isn't going off to far off Africa to be used as a "technical."

That's why I still dream of a diesel Hilux. They are ugly and small but can take a beating all day long in some of the worst terrain in the world and still get you home.

So can our current rangers. And they're not ugly. Win.

Ford needs to downsize the Ranger and make it green to get the sales.
I hate to say it, but an electric/hybrid Ranger would look good to the US public.
I thought about doing an Electric conversion to my 84 Ranger. It ain't cheap but it would be handy for short trips to the home supply and auto parts stores.
Besides, electric power is fun to drive. Instant TORQUE makes ya giggle like a little girl when ya mash the skinny pedal.

No ...... no they can't. The best example is the Top Gear episode where they trash one.

Maybe if you don't maintain it, but mine has always gotten me home.

And they had to work on this yota to get it to run a few times. Its not like it was perfect after every test.
