thats a cool idea. 7 gallons isnt much, but it is cool that he doesnt need to take up any more space with a tank. for a ranger, it might work well to put an aux tank where the spare tire should be.

This is a pretty cool idea, except for when he gets rear-ended....

The rest of the idea is pretty awesome though, although I dont think I'd ever do it because my truck is a trail rig, and thats just more weight and one more thing to get riped out or broke.

If I had a pickup, I might be more interested because I could then have a removable tank or something, but my b2 doesn't have much space if I have a few spare parts, tools, and a bit of camping gear. (and water isn't a major concern for camping in these parts, there are good clean streams everywhere to refill your bottles.)

That's what i was thinking maybe 10-12 gallons

Thats just a regular 12V demand pump from any motorhome, camper, trailer. I used a friends older F-250 as a lab rat and used a demand pump and boat heat exchanger tied into his cooling system for hot water. You just pull up to any water source (lake, river, stream, ocean, hose bib), hook up the inlet and outlet quick attach hoses and flick on the pump switch. Give you unlimited (truck running of course) hottish water for showers for all the girls you dirtied up the night before. You adjust the outlet valve (ball valve) for how hot you want the water, less outflow means the water is in the exchanger longer thus hotter water. Chicks dig it and so will you when they crawl in your sleeping bag the next night.

You mean my set-up but water source being onboard? It's set that way too, I built an exo safari rack for on top of his shell and scored 10 fiberglass 20 gal eye wash cylinders at govt auction. They are shaped just like welding 02/OXY ect... cyls but bigger and lay horizontal fore and aft. The rack is set-up for one each Port and Starboard or a single centered Mid-ship. The original outlets (TOP) are capped and I put fittings down low or you would not be able to get that almost full half bottom water, also since it is sealed you HAVE to have a vent for vacuum so I put in some spiffy little upside down "J's" with check valves. There are a few cooler things about it, I wonder where that SOB is? havnt seen him in two years... Livin in da truck heh heh.

Very cool idea.
If you already have an on-board air system, get a water tank that can be pressurized with air and not have a water pump.

I might look into this, since I tend to get the truck very muddy at times.
