My credo
I need more sleep.
So I have an 07 with a 4.0L SOHC in it, and I can't seem to find a bolt on supercharger kit for it. Maybe I'm just not looking right or something, but I want to find a whole kit. Does anyone have good suggestions or such? Something that I could do in my garage. And I'm also guessing I would need some gauges.

I'm guessing my engine is either an 01 or 02..

I really feel like I should not have to explain this part of it to you if you have the competence needed to tackle supercharging and engine.

I figured it out, derp moment. I'm debating on whether it would be more cost efficient to supercharge or swap for a v8. I read up on the 5.0L V8 swap and it's a lot more work as well. It seems like the supercharger would be the way to go, cheaper and more power. For gauges I think I'll go with 30 psi boost/vacuum, oil pressure, fuel pressure, and air pressure, any other ones I might purely need? I think I'll just go with some aftermarket pods that can be placed anywhere.

Why would you need an air pressure gauge?:icon_confused:
You'd be better off with a wideband o2 display for tuning purposes.

I guess I don't? I tried to look up what other gauges I would need and it said an air pressure gauge. Or maybe it was an air/fuel ratio gauge. I got everything else figured out except gauges, I know that a good idea would be to have the oil and fuel.

First off, I wasn't banned, I left. After my brother played with my account I decided it would be better off just leaving and leave it at that, it was my fault, I had a chance to stop it earlier and I didn't take it. So I came here, and I like it here, it's been quite helpful and more resourceful.

I think ford4thot was pretty harsh with that statement, however, it sounds like you need to do a lot more reading before you look at doing some forced induction on your ranger.

Well at the moment I have everything set and figured out as for the kit and the supercharger. I'm reading up on gauges, in the end I might just have it professionally done.

An air/fuel ratio gauge= wideband gauge. They're probably more important for boosted applictions than the oil pressure gauge (not that oil pressure is bad). The wideband a/f will make it easier to properly tune, and keep an eye out for problems that could blow up your fancy engine.

I agree that you should do more reading on the subject. Forced Induction is not for the novice, or those with shallow pockets. If you're thinking about having this "professionally done" , I'd budget 4 grand minimum.

Yeah, half of that's just parts and the rest is labor, I'm going to check around some shops and see who will do it the cheapest and check with the BBB, as well as read some reviews.
