The "Goldwing" Build Thread

haha yeah 4x4 i wouldnt own anything else haha im not a fan of the crew cab short box though... i want to trade it for a single cab long if i get it haha but a 60 front end will be a must

Id never go back to a single cab.. once you do the crew cab you realize how much little cabs suck. As for short box i just want one because they're rare. Drop the tail gate and you have an 8ft box again

haha good point! but i may not actually be trading him... i found a mitsubishi 4d55 2.3l 4cyl turbo diesel with a VE pump, innercooler, full brain, 5 speed tranny, t case, and all other things id need for the swap (not sure the miles on anything) all for $600 soooooo i might be making a diesel danger here shortly insted hahahaha which is my dream truck except id want a 4bt but oh well haha

trucks looking good. im pretty close to the same age as you and know what your going through having big dreams for the truck but not deep enough pockets to make it happen sucks.

Theres always a way just gotta find it. Ive done alot of sitting around waiting on $. Helps that i work spring to fall and have winters off.

Mason how old are you? Im 22 just bought a house with 4 acres and a shop i still walk the line between being poor and being able to do fun stuff. Its good to have an understanding gf lol. Been a few weeks where we get kd for dinner cause i want to buy some 38s lol

haha yeah the money thing is always an issue because im 16 with summer full time jobs and kinda employed during the school year hahaha my mom manages a few shopping centers around town and i do the maintenance on them so its just like whenever something needs done haha i get like 15-20 hours a month at $10/hour on average unless something big goes down like recarpeting a space or a pipe bursts. and on top of the truck being a money pit i ride and race motocross and enduro all around the tristate area so thats very pricy as well but mom and dad grab majority of the tab on the racing haha

Ah yea im lucky i only picked one hobby. When i was in high school i had two trucks and girls.... now its just trucks lol. Worked two jobs and played rugby. Best $ ive made beside what i do now is delivering pizzas. But i think thats cause i drove a 4wd and in winters none of the other drivers showed up for thier shifts :)

Update: 3/27/2013

Well did the first camping trip of the year and got around to doing a small amount of wheelin while we're coming back down the mountain but i only got one little poser shot. still only have 4x4 for temporary amounts of time so nothing hard just splashing in the mud and shit ... I keep thinking that i should fix my front end but then i would hate dropping 200 in a ttb... I really want a d44 especially after seeing some of the trails i wanted to do up there but idk... right now the diesel is my big goal. got a good amount of the money saved up so here in a bit i might be hauling that puppy home haha :icon_thumby:

POSER ALRET!! :thefinger:

Update: 4/14/2013

the little goldwing made me proud today. my friend needed help moving his shop today and he makes his own diesel in a 500 gallon tank... and i was the only one with out a tool box...

that tank weighs about 1500lbs dry. add in couple hundo in tires and 2 5th wheel hitches and the fuel that was left in the tank had about a ton on her today and had no problems getting up to speed and holding it. other than feeling like i was wheelying... didnt even know it was there. :headbang:

cant wait to see how shell pull when the diesel is in it!! :icon_thumby:

truck got a new slave a few days ago... it went out at school and i floated the gears and perfectly timed every red light for almost 3 miles before i had to stop it! haha when i pulled the old slave it had a very good sized chunk blown out of the plastic ring. whole job took me and one guy about 3 and a half hours... went fairly smooth... biggest pain was the slave line and i had to make a new clip to hold in the odomotor cable. but it went fairly smooth. slave was about 50 bucks with new throw out.

advanced auto parts. i just bought some cheapy cause i wont have that tranny in for much longer anyway. for a mid grade one i was seeing like 60 ish
