RaceRangers Build

If you are wanting the larger tires for a smoother ride are you not defeating the purpose by using larger wheels? 33" tires with a 15" wheel gives you 9" of sidewall. 35" tires with a 17" wheel is 9" of sidewall as well. All that is accomplished is spending more money than if you went with a 35" tire and 15" wheel (giving you 10" of sidewall).

I don't think he's too worried about sidewall on his setup(I worry about it on mine which is why I stick with 15" rims). Larger overall diameter is better over rough stuff - the larger tires don't drop into the holes like smaller tires do.

A 35 inch tyre on a 17" rim is lighter than a 35" tyre on a 15" rim, rubber is heavy. Less unsprung weight is a good thing.

Decided to re-build a whole lot more than originally planned, pretty excited to do it again correctly.

Good to see your always improving this project to make it stronger. With the V8 now in there you can do the engine cage like it should be. I see your running some knarly headers on there, what kind of exhaust you gonna run?

Your Ranger is still my favorite prerunner.

Thanks man.. Not exactly sure yet about the rest of the exhaust just yet.

We cut out a lot of the cab cage as well

Those pillars are outstanding talk about sturdy and the cab cage looks good also.

Thanks man, ya we went to build the new engine cage and started looking over the cab cage for where to connect to. After starring for a while we decided it wasnt built strong enough for a high speed roll so we decided to just re-do a bunch of it. I will feel more comfortable not only going through tech inspection but driving agressively at speed.

Engine cage progress.
