1993 4.0 Ext Cab, 4x4, 215K miles; new tranny 5K ago. Probably would have gone longer had I known about Auto Transmission Fluid being used in 1991+ vehicles with manual trans. My bad, should have changed it when I bought it. Engine (knock on wood, i.e., my head) runs really well. No oil leaks, no loss of oil. Previous owner treated her really well.

Love my fords

1997 XLT,4.0,Auto, 3.73's, bought new, 6" lift 33x12.5x15 generals, Warn hubs, K&N, Great truck. Only repairs I've had to do to it; 2 radiators, 1 alternater, replace intake gasket, speed sensor,heater housing. the rest was just maitenence. Still running original timing chain( changing that this weekend) Built FORD TUFF! She has 317,500 miles on her and still running good. I just retired so now I can do some work on her. New paint, rebuild engine, headers, new interior, 35's and 4.30 or 4.56 gears.

welll... now that 4.5 years have gone by since I posted this, it now has 148k on it. only major work done was replaced all upper engine gaskets 2 years ago.

Going to replace the crappy auto hubs with warn manuals when I get around to it. I have the parts and the conversion kit, just never have had the time to do the swap.

checking back in....more than 5 & 1/2 years later! Now I have 131,806 miles as she sits. It's been a blast and a truck I probably will keep til I retire from my job (12-14 years). I put about 5k+ per year on 'er. At that rate, she will certainly be around when I put my papers in and start to collect my pension!

2003 FX4 motor made it to 250k before it blew a head gasket, Chains rattled cold but ran great all the way to the end
