rock auto....it was $23.xx. auto-bone wanted $41.99 for the same kit. there's also a kit that comes with new bearings but that was $50 or so i think.
hard to tell what's included, there was no description on rock auto. but from what i can tell, it's got both snap rings and seals for the pitman arm and the splined shaft that the steering shaft hooks to. then it looks like there's a few outer seals and maybe some inner seals. i dont recall seeing any o-rings either and there's a few of those inside the box. you may be able to recognize more than me from the pic on the site too
it's gotta be more than $60 with bearings from advanced. autozones kit with the bearings is $75.99. and rock auto wanted $50 or $60 for it.
from what i've noticed autozone is always the cheapest of the national parts stores chains. rock auto is always a little cheaper than autozone, but they have some wierd brands sometimes.
the pitman arm i got from rock auto was a raysbestos arm that was $23.xx.....autozone wanted $42xx for the same damn thing.
If you know the part # a lot times you can get stuff from Amazon. There O2 sensors are pretty cheap I got all four sensors for the Merc for $116 shipped to my door(Rockauto was about 50 bucks more for all four). I never even knew they sold parts until a friend asked if a O2 sensor would fit his truck he linked to Amazon I was like huh?!
The box I have is in great shape and doesn't leak, but, I have it apart to drill and tap it and thought if I could find a cheap kit that included all of the outer seals and o-rings I would go ahead and replace them since they are 20 years old. That kit from Rock auto looks like it has everything I will need, thanks.
