i looked into buying a set of long arms at first, but they're wayyyyyyy too pricey. anywhere from $300-$500 (and more for the really sparkly one). plus, they all come with 4 links.

i do have to make a track bar, but that's only gonna cost around $75. i'll still be at less than $250 for everything.

are you hacking up some factory arms to make them? i spent about $50 an arm on making mine for the TTB. that's paying $7.xx a foot for 2x2x.250 tube too. i used the factory doughnut type bushings on the frame though.

using johnny joints or other flex joints gets expensive...
plus if you use DOM.... yeah.... lol

I used square tubing like you did, but Im using Johnny Joints. Yea, shit gets expensive when I add the cost of the mounts Im making and the crossmember.

And that steel is 9/ft around here.

i got my johnny joints from 4WP for $38.99 a piece. didnt have to pay shipping since i picked them up from the store. $28 for the tube adapters and $4 for the jam nuts.

it's good to see that raleigh isnt the only place that charges out the ass for metal.

Im using the 1.25" RH thread Johnny Joints from Currie Enterprises. They're 42.00 a piece plus 1.50 each for jam nuts plus 18.00 each for the weld-in bungs from Ballistic Fab.

didnt get anything done yesterday, we had some nasty storms roll through and knocked out the power for a little while.

i did get my aussie installed in my open carrier while the power was out.....backwards i misread the diagram i guess, i dont know. the cross pin wont go through. then i screwed up one of the springs trying to get them out, so now i have to order a spring kit. doesnt really matter though, there was one that was already bent when i bought it. i may try and make up a spring at the hardware store first, unless i break more of them.

i also ordered my f150 pitman arm and a seal kit for the steering box. i'm working on trying to find metal right now for the arms. i'm shooting to be done at the end of july.

well, not backwards. i should have explained better. there's two couplers inside the locker. the couplers have a cup like shape to them, so installed the locker with the cups facing each other, but they need to be facing away from eachother apparently. so the cross pin wont go through. i used the directions in the tech library, but they werent very clear. they just said that they need to face the same direction. kinda vague

oh yeah.... it doesn't work that way lol. you need the flat sides towards the middle. guess you figured that out tho.
