Funniest Repair Orders you've seen?

Well at least down here they don't ask questions and they usually have one guy who knows something. Besides you tell them you modified your truck and their all ears, so no questions asked. One Autozone the next town over where I used to live all the employees are pretty much ex mechanics, and the stores clientele is 90 percent mechanics since its in the shop district lol.

I was at autozone when the counter guy got a call from a customer. The guy wanted to know how you get the box wrench off of the brake line he had just installed. No joke. After the counter guy hung up, he informed me never to buy a 95 grand am because it might be that guys.

i don't know why you guys even play the game with them, i just go to the computer, look up all the parts i need, print out the list, and ask them to get them for me.

That's what I do lol. Then they insist I need something else when I know I don't.

If you want to have fun with them, tell them you need new spark plugs for your diesel truck. Some will try and look it up. If they do try, I ask for someone else lol

Is she cute/hot enough to draw in GWM (guys with money)??

No offense to her because she is my friend, but no not really. But heres the kicker, they do have the really hot chick with no auto knowlege. I dont talk to her, shes just eye candy while i wait for my part.:D

We have some of those where I work. One sells cars, one does titles (although she actually knows her stuff) one takes pictures, and one is a driver for one of our suppliers. They sell cheap Chinese parts, I think we order from them more to get the one driver out there.

There was more fabric in my socks than in the shorts she was wearing yesterday.

I noticed that most parts stores dont really require any tech experience and/or knowlege to be hired. I always assumed this... until my friend Amber got hired at Auto Zone and she doesnt know much about vehicles.

Is it just me or is this true?

It's true... I refuse to visit the local autozone anymore partly because I got into it with the new store manager (the 5th one since I moved here like 5 years ago). The assistant store manager was hired as a parts manager and got promoted to assistant store manager within a month.... and he doesn't have a forking clue about vehicles plus he's hard to understand because of his spanish accent...

Yes its true, vatozone doesn't have a system to learn anymore. Its almost identical to their website.

Sent from the road while ignoring traffic

Actually, they are testing a new system where all of the choices past entering vehicle information are done visually - it shows pictures of parts and you click on what you're looking for.....:shok:

They are working on the same type of system for emergency rooms...

I prefer to think of it as a predictive documentary.

I think McDonald's has perfected that system years ago (you know, w/pics of fries, soda, etc)-

Yes, I realize it's been done in the fast food industry (and some others). But the system Autozone is going to is idiocracy by the lowest bidder....

Once the system is fully implemented, you will no longer be able to search by part, you'll have to click on what part of the car is being worked on, then what part of that area, etc. The problem is, someone (either the customer or the moron behind the counter) has to have some idea of where to click to get the right result..... I see nothing but bad things happening from that, far too many people have no idea what exactly they need when they go to buy it.

Not to mention it will drive the people like us that have a clue nuts trying to find parts.

Jeez thank God for online parts and u pull it's

I've got one... I was working at a shop in Yucca Valley. I wrote 'Check Engine Illuminated. Check and advise' as a labor op. Tech comes back to ask 'what does this word mean?' He was pointing at illuminated.

Obviously the light bulb above his head was not illuminated at the time, lol

Sometimes I wonder just how much of stupid things like that are just that the person really is that brain-dead and how much of it is related to the public education system that is more concerned with indoctrinating kids instead of teaching them something useful.
