What are some fuel economy numbers for 2wd street rangers out there? 2.3 turbo, V8, supercharged, whatever. I am a few parts short of my turbo install, and the turboless turbo motor with the 160k factory ranger exhaust(manifold, Downpipe, catalyst, cherry bomb glass pack, gets a solid 18-19 miles/gallon in combined driving. Not enough power in N/A form to make any mileage on the highway, and it has the fishing camp campershell, and 7 inch wider rear wheelbase and flared bedsides do not help.

I get right at 24 mpg on the highway with my lifted 2wd with 33's and a Yakima roof rack. 4.0 motor and auto trans. 4:10 gears. Around town in stop and go driving I get about 18.

With a stock 2wd 5speed 2.3 I get 21-23 in town, 25-27 on the highway.

Somewhere between 23-25 highway...that's with no extra weight...I turned up the idle a bit recently and haven't checked exact figures...but I think it is slightly less right now...when the warm weather returns it should be a bit better...

My 84 swb 2wd with a clapped out carbed 2.3 and c3 auto got 19-20 no matter how or where I drove it. I swapped in a stock 2.3T out of an 86 Merkur and an M5OD, and it varied greatly depending on my right foot. I got as much as 25 if I babied it, and as low as 15 if I was in the turbo a lot.

25 in the winter with my brand new 4 banger. I had sandbags in the back but I tookem out. But then added a fiberglass cap so probably around the same. It'll change once warmer weather hits.

We set up the truck to be able to put a 4 foot pallet in the back- and I can now stack full sheets of plywood in it, like a full size- we cut the inner hump, plated it out, cut the metal inner fender liners, jacked out the bed side with screw jacks, welded bars in to hold it out, lined the fenders, and spaced out the 7.5 to make it clear, and I later put the sploder 8.8 in, and with the 2" spacers, and now we have an extra 7" of track, and it is a neat, very functional truck- and by the way, F-150 air shocks fit under there nicely, and I have hauled some heavy stuff... GM 6.2 diesel and the crane to grab it, Ez Book Maker equipment, plywood, Golden Tee 2005 Video game, rear axles, slept back there on a church camp out...

17-19 mostly highway in an extended cab with a fiberglass canopy, lumber rack and a bunch of tools in the back.

I tend to get about 15 to 17 with the Ranger, 18.5 on the nose pretty consistently with the B2. I don't really ever drive them anywhere but work and back and the Ranger goes to the scrap yard every few months, so it's all either stop and go in town or loaded up and weighed down.
