project family wheeler. chop top 1 ton explorer.

I finally broke down and decided to go auto. Its gonna suck on the street though.

and I thought when the engine died going up that step and you lost your power brakes and steering causing you to flop woulda been enough to make ya go auto:D

a manual tranny in ya Focus is more than enough for the street....you will get used to it quick in the BII....

I know.... they're just so superior and stuff.... who would want one.:thefinger:

Yea after dropping atleast $1k in it, I've got $75 in it and got a free 205 with it lol.

If I had the cash for a REAL auto, id probably swap. But alas I'm a broke kid so a manual it is.

i perfer the manual due to the fact that they are more controlable in factory form. not as much lag between forward and reverse. if I had the money to dump into building and auto i would go that route but i just dont. one other thing to think of is if i loose fluid for WHATEVER reasone i can limp out using just about anything for fluid. in an auto you better hope you have some (er alot) of atf.

More control, more stability, shift between gears much faster, just better in every aspect.... period.

How many times did your manual spew fluid and leave you limping off the trail? :thefinger:

Welp I went home and looked at this for about 10 minutes, couldn't decide what to do.

So to fix my problem I brought out the grinder.

Figured if I have to redo the radiator and all that I might as well lose the shitty sheet metal.

Needs more tranny removal.

how am i not surprised..... lol at least its progress? kinda.... still doing more removing then replacing/building

Working on it lol, going to get it pulled Saturday.

Its cool. I got an Explorer that needs a tranny put in, and a Focus that needs a head installed before I can attempt to pull the tranny in the B2.

he's gotta cut his way down to there still.

lol seriously it is going to turn out sweet. all that sheetmetal just gets wrecked anyways

I didn't mind the sheet metal (which was the only reason it was still there) but I'd rather get rid of it then have to hack it up trying to redo the radiator mounts etc.

Should make putting in some wheel wells easier also.

oh dear weve crossed that line.

more sheetmetal has been removed than what is left.
pretty soon yer gonna end up with a buggy with an explorer grill

Broke my first one, left me completely stranded.

Yeah, my C5 cost me $2500 to build, but as I said... its impossible to match it with a manual.

My C5 has full control of gears just like a manual, but shifts 10x faster/easier, and I don't have to do the 3 pedal jig or worry about a hand throttle on big climbs.

Not trying to diss or belittle anyone with the 5spd. I ran 5spds for 6yrs, just stating that a built auto is superior.... and I might be poking a little bit of fun:thefinger:
