The Red Devil Ranger. Trail Rig build.

Planning on boxing the frame up front at the leaf hangers?

Good eye. Yes, we will be boxing that in. I am hoping we can incorporate the winch mount into it, so it will happen a bit later. For now we want to get started on the back and get the major projects knocked out.

Sorry I ment the rear mounts for the front leafs.

We need a manual shift 1350 or 1354 Transfer Case for the doubler, the electric shift 1350 we have will not work. We are almost ready to get the rear axle set up with gears.

who did you get the flat pitman arm through and is it for a range? I needed one for my bronco so it would clear my track bar so i cut mine at both ends and welded to make it flat, some things i don't trust all that well when it's been modified. Are those chevy one ton tie rod ends on your steering linkage ?

your build is looking great keep posting pics, it's always nice to see someone take pride in there build .......attention to details always show :icon_thumby:

Thanks.
The pitman arm is for a Ranger 2wd I believe. Raybestos 445-1070, bought new on ebay $32. I did have to open up the taper for the bigger TRE.
Chevy TREs and I think one is a Dodge part number, all 7/8 threads. 2010R, 2010L and 2233L is the one with the side hole for the draglink to tie into.

Started mocking up the location of the springs.

And We figured out about where the rear axle will be. The final wheelbase will be around 115". Just a wee bit longer than a stock Toyota.

We got the first bob on the front of the bed tacked on. Also got the bed back on the Ranger to get a look-see on the placement of the axle.

The rear axle is in the perfect spot to fit right under the fenderwell.
