1988 BII Build

6.5 degrees doesn't sound like much for a B2. My driveshaft is 24 degrees and thats what I am going to be setting my FW8.8 at.

I think my current axle is around 10-11 degrees and it was out of a supercab Ranger.

it looked good when i hooked everything up. we'll see what happens when i get it on it's own weight. i can always move them.

If it works for you great. Just sounded a little flat to me. I also got the doubler making it worse.

yeah, i just looked at it again, it may be a little flat. i dont know. i'm gonna hold off on mounting the shocks until i get it on it's own weight to burn them in, just in case.

i want to do a doubler if i can ever find a 1354M, so i may need to re do it at some point anyhow

playing around with the idea of beefing up my diff cover. i had to order more lugnuts from LMC truck b/c autozone wanted $33 for 20 of them and i only need 10. so i wont be able to drive it until later this week anyhow. i'm gonna start getting all the little things taken care of and i may do the diff cover while i'm at it.

i'd like a ruff stuff cover, but i dont have $100+ to spend on one right now. i do have $10 to buy some 3/16" flat bar.

started tonight

looked at my pinion angel some more, it looks too flat. the driveshaft still hooks up and the angle looks fine, but it could be better. not sure if i'm gonna redo it or not. :bawling:

while your modding the diff cover it may be worth putting a drain hole in.

good call, i've thought about it, but i havent tried to find a weld in bung. i'll have to check on it. +rep

after searching, i may try and make my own drain plug or just saying F it, i dont know

i've decided i'm redoing my spring perches, i dont like the way the alxe is sitting. gonna get it out from under the car tonight

i just got some new perches from another TRS member, they're the boxed ones from ballistic. i'm gonna cut the old ones off when they get here and reset the pinion angle to 11-12 degrees.

my dad-gum explorer has a knock somewhere up front, so i gotta figure out what it is. i think the sway bushing is fawked. errrrrrrr.

i did get my nuts in though lol. i can finally set it on it's own weight and see if i need more lift in the back

i may finish the diff cover if i have time

Sorry if I pointed out more work for ya, but better to change it now.

see type in bold ^, no apology necessary. it isnt my DD and i dont need it on the road ASAP, so i can wait to make it right.

i just got some perches from another TRS'r, should be here next week. so that's another reason to redo it. the originals were from 4wheel parts and were generic perches, only 4" long. the new ones are from ballistic and are 6 1/4".

got it on all 4's now, the lift is pretty damn close, we'll see what happens when i get it out of the garage:

my EX had a bad sway bar bushing, got a new one from autozone, only cost $13

gonna try and hook up the exhaust tomorrow and get the extended lines and new to me calipers in. it's cold as balls here right now and i can do that with the garage door closed

I wish I had the first gen front sheet metal on my 89 BII.
