call me bland but i'm a fan of black. you paint it blue and then you spend the next month's trying to keep it looking clean. but eventually give up. paint it black and it will look pretty good after a quick hose down every time.

up here we have so much iron in the dirt and mud that any color (other than black or red is hard to keep clean. even the plastics on my bike have a red tint (they are suposed to be yellow) and the aluminum on it has a permenant pink/ red tint to it

maybe.....i was thinking gloss black block and silver valve covers and intake.

Still wouldn't paint the intake if you decide to do silver just clean it up. I lightly sand blasted mine then polished it. Black might bs a good idea. I'll probably do mine black next time.

Painting the intake

I made some progress today..... I got bored today and cleaned the block and decided to start painting. i was thinking of colors and black and beige seemed to match the color scheme of the truck. i scrubbed the intake but it didnt look right so i started rebuilding it and painted it. turned out awesome in my opinion. heres some pics.

i wasnt thrilled so i started taping and sprayed it one more time.

Ive heard that all black engines are more efficent and painting the inside of the intake maifold with porecelian paint (cant spell) helps too. Has something to do with heat desperssion. Im told crome parts hold heat in and dont release heat as easily (along with painted engines) but who wouldnt paint there engine?

funny funny! i dont want to rush and forget something and have a great looking engine that wont run. im just trying to take my time and do everything right. once its in and it runs good again..... its time to tear the suspension out and start the fun stuff!

Update

I've made some progress in the last few days. I got the engine almost 80% built but I'm trying to find the exhaust bolts from the manifold to the heads. Seems like nobody has them. If anybody knows where to find it would help out a lot. Heres what I've got done so far.
