awesome work. Keep us updated.

Finally I have some real progress to report.

I replaced the turbo after going in to fix a leak from one of the exhaust manifolds. While in there I took a peak at the turbo..... I found some chips off of the fins. whatever it had for a thrust bearing decided to take a vacation and let the impeller travel into the housing...... it didnt blow up but it was probably very close. And then I did glowplugs and found that the passenger side manifold was also leaking. Both manifolds were erroded away at the mating surfaces so they both got replaced. I found that unbolting the right body mounts and the fan shroud made life much easier.

Then with the swap all mocked up and ready to go it was time to get rid of the parts truck.

If you look close the loaders rear tire lifted off the ground a couple times.

And then the exciting stuff started.

The exhaust is a little close, I will probably set up a heat shield to protect the tcase mount and try to massage a little more space between the pipe and mounting plate.

A friend was kind enough to let me put my truck up on a lift to drill all the holes for the radius arm and tracbar brackets. They went on in about 2 hours, (8) 1/2" grade 8 bolts holding each radius arm bracket on. 7 bolts for the tracbar bracket.

And then I started on thursday morning cutting out the old axle and bolting in the new one.

And then I started on the minor details like setting the ride height, brake lines, shocks, front drive shaft.

I love these cobalt step drills. They cut so fast the chips come off blue and hurt like a mother if they land on you.

And all that was done by friday night. Then saturday morning I turned it around and did a shackle flip in the rear and added a 2" block. I will reinstall the helper leaf after I get longer ubolts made tomorrow. I was done and driving by 2pm on saturday.

I donot like the shackle angle. I will fix that later.

subscribed... awesome!

Sweet. Looks stock, like it came that way. Awesome job.

Subscribed! I wanna do the very same sas to my 95 psd. Minus the two piece front and divorced 205.

Just a heads up, it would be way easier to swap in front and rear superduty axles so that you do not need to fabricate the brackets on to the axle for the trackbar and radius arms. but then you would not have the awesomeness that is kingpins.

I can't tell you how jealous I am, you have my dream (heavy-duty) truck.

It's almost like it's tooo badass...

holy shit son! I didn't even know you were still around and throwing up builds on here! Glad i found this thread. Looks great.

I'd be more than willing to do the fabwork to keep kingpins.
