Crew cab build: 4x4 conversion and gear vendors install.

Could u explain the gear vendor splitter please? I understand the it is like an additional overdrive but what I don't understand is if u have to use the clutch to shift them. Is it just an in-n-out? It can b used in all gears right? Is the shifters for it or ur transfer case? Love the shifter handles!

yea i wanna do the same thing how much weight do you think its good for?

I would be comfortable with 1000-1500 lbs. It strains and deflects alot at 1000 lbs. If I had used a 14bolt spindle on it instead I would be saying twice that. I wish I had used a heavier spindle. Oh well. Maybe I will break it and upgrade later.

No clutch required. It actually functions similar to an automatic transmission. There is a solenoid that shifts it. A control box prevents it from engaging below 20mph. It is just in and out. It can be shifted between the gears.

One little detail, It slams hard when shifting. So I put the clutch in so that the whole truck doesn't slam with it.
