Update.
I am now running a 50% diesel, 7.5%RUG, 42.5% WMO fuel blend. just over 8000 miles so far with no real problems.
Near the beginning of the experiment I put the truck on a dyno, 4 pulls.
Pull 1, On WMO blend. 173.34 hp/326.42 ftlbs
Pull 2, On WMO blend. 174.81 hp/333.46 ftlbs
Ran it for about 5 minutes to flush the fuel system after switching tanks.
Pull 3 on Pump Diesel. 173.11 hp/320.03 ftlbs
Pull 4 on Pump Diesel. 170.28 hp /319.07 ftlbs
This video is of one of the pulls on pump diesel. It blew more smoke on the WMO blend at higher rpms. I suspect the WMO has higher BTU content but does not burn quite as fast so I get more smoke because combustion does not complete or scavange as much before the exhaust valve opens...... I am just guessing though.... Any pirate feedback on that thought?
The only modification to my truck was the installation of an additional fuel filter. The biggest one I could find that fit a filter head I already had. The filter is a Cat 1R-0755. Its FAWKING HUGE! Physical capacity of the filter is 1.2 GALLONS!
And then I built a filtering setup. I collect the oil in the stainless tank and bring it home. I put gas in that tank so it mixes when I collect the oil. Then it gets pumped off into that big blue tank to let shit settle out. Then I wait as long I can before sending it up to the bag filters and down to the black drum where it waits to be put in my truck.
My average cost per gallon is around 2.00-2.20/gallon.
